    It's hard sometimes to understand why companies don't realize their full potential, and really there is just one reason:  people

    People make mistakes.  People don't always make the right decision.  People don't always create the perfect product.  People are often opinionated, and don't often mind others givin theirs until it conflicts with their own.

    Hindsight is 20/20, and any software developer can tell you that for every good idea that made it into the final product, there were at least 5 that didn't make the cut, due to priority, lack of time due to deadlines, etc.

    There is no such thing as the perfect game, system, etc.  This fact will always leave room for people to have valid points on what improvements could be made, it also allows for companies like Sega could bomb after being a major contender for years.  

    In the end it boils down to one thing:

    It's just business, and it all boils down to the money...
