Gearheads of War

Couldn't this be the thing to get us out of the rut that developers have been in for the past 5 years? It's been a constant stream of fps, action platformers, barley upgraded sports games, and rpgs, with only a handful being truly worth your time.  I'm willing to trade one rut for another, at least it's change.
