Freakin' Network.

I have wireless internet, which is usually rather unreliable anyway (breaking down about once every tw weeks), but with Gears it seems even worse.
I can get on xbox live fine, can dowload stuff, do whatever I need too in other games, but 9 times out of 10 I get onto the "Versus" page, it gives me a host, I press "A", and after a few seconds it says "connection with host lost, press A to continue".
Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just my network?

    What it is is, the game is filled up before you even  select it, thats why it gives you that error message. I read something about pressing "X" twice while the "searching" screen is on and it'll show you the first few games that it finds, instead of waiting for the full list while it fills up. I personally haven't tried it, I've been playing some CoD 3 (which is pretty fun, not as good as gears though :P) but it seems like its a quick fix to the current problem.

    I have wired internet, but that still happens to me. I just refresh and go to the first game that comes up

    so the solution to the problem is to go into the games that say 1/8-4/8 people because those are not full

    i have the same problem , but it is the worst with ranked games... i have not played a single ranked game... ever... it sometimes happens with player matches, but it ALWAYS happens with ranked matches. even if it says 1/8.

    i can connect to XBL just fine fine and everything. is there anything i can do?
