Lone Wolves

Mon Oct 15, 2007 at 12:03:36 PM EST

So I've played quite a bit of Lone Wolves lately as that is the only way to get a bunch of the achievements in the game. And, I have noticed that it is significantly easier to level up in this playlist than it was in Halo 2.

Playing Lone Wolves last night, I went from a level 20 to a level 30 in about 45 minutes to an hour.

Does anyone else think that this FFA playlist is much easier than Rumble Pit was on Halo 2? Or is it just me?

I have seen more level 40+'s in Halo 3 than I EVER did in Halo 2.

I also have an issue with boosting for achievements in this playlist. I dont really care too much as it will weed itself out the higher your level goes but hearing it every match is getting old.

"Hey wanna do an achievement match?" I am finally to the point now that when I hear that, I just say, "Sure. Everyone meet in the middle!" I wait for averyone to gather and then I throw a couple grenades and spray them down with AR fire. They are all SO pissed after the match...LOL...good humor.

Anyone's thoughts?

  •  I haven't had too (none / 0)

much of a chance to mess with the rankings but when I did I would agree you can level up to 40 pretty quickly (from how far I got in limited time) However I think from 40-50 its much tougher.

I remember in Gears ranked at times it was almost a every other match occurrence to have people meeting in the middle to get achievements....pathetic! :)

for sure way easier to go up in Halo 3 than it was at any point in Halo 2.

Also, I've never met anyone who has wanted to do an achievement match in either Gears of Halo...weird.

  •  I actually had (none / 0)

a game of Lone Wolves yesterday where this one kid wanted to get the Killing Frenzy achievement (because he was TERRIBLE) by boosting, so everyone agreed (I didnt have my mic on.)..so during the game I watched the corner of the screen and counted that kids kills until he got to 9. I went around and found him since it was on SnowBound and his guy was blue (pretty easy to spot), so I found him, and stuck him directly in the face with a plasma nade before he got to 10. PRICELESS! Heres proof....

    •  Im not saying (none / 0)

that it pisses me off when it happens on occassion. I am saying that it is bothering me that at LEAST every other match someone is trying to get an "achievement" match going. I just want to play slayer damn it!

But I must say, that once you get to around a level 30, I havent seen many of them doing it. So as I said; I think you will see boosting in the lower levels and it will weed itself out eventually.

I just dont like achievement matches because I feel like I wouldnt be accomplishing anything by not getting the achievements on my own. Most of which were pretty damn easy might I add. If you go into a match with that specific achievement in mind and dont care about winning or losing, they are easy as hell to get.

The spartan laser one though I actually got by pure luck. I was aiming at a guy on snowbound and a guy on a ghost was coming from behind him to splatter him and I got them both! I will see if I can take a screen shot of it tonight and post it. It was AWESOME!

  •  i used to screw up acievement matches in gears all (none / 0)

the time.  in halo it is not quite as much fun but still a good laugh. the achievements in halo are really easy to get though (most of them).  i even got a double witht the spartan laser but it was in team slayer so it didnt count.  those people are so annoying, just play the game, they are only worth five points anyways
    •  I'm sure they do it (none / 0)

more for the Armor rather than the Ach. Points - at least I hope so.

          •  oh are you talking about those swords (none / 0)

            •  There's (none / 0)

other armor types you get for certain online achievements.  I think the E.V.A. one is for triple kill, overkill, and something else, or something along those lines.
