So due to Texas' latest post http://www.gearheadsofwar.com/story/2007/10/23/20445/860 involving the team of Surgeons fragging away on Halo 3, it got me wondering what all the Gearheads do.

So, you can post a quick "Forum Name" - "Job Title" if you want to.

I think it would be interesting to know what everyone does for a living.

You can post a short description if you'd like as well.

      I would go to guitar center and try out a bunch of guitars and make sure that this is the best one. One of my friends bought an Epiphone SG online, and he really didn't like it when it arrived... but that's just him. This could very well be the perfect guitar for you.

        you may ejaculate when you walk into guitar center... it's that fantastic. It honestly smells like guitars, I don't know how else to explain it. A guitar is definitely something I would never recommend ordering online though (unless you've already played it) because a HUGE factor in playing is that it has to feel right.

        The guys there know me buy name. Epiphone SG's are great guitars but run more neck-heavy than Gibson.
        I would spend the extra $ for a beefy tailpiece (with vibrola) to level things out.

        an amazing player live though. I just got their two disc collection called "Plug it In" and i was blown away by their early stuff especially. He was jumping off fullstacks and rolling on the ground while keeping perfect tempo and doing great solo work. His style has also evolved to the point where his playing is pretty damn notable for using many different scales. People may whore AC/DC, but they really do have talent.

        pretty much how far off of the necj the strings are (don't qupte me on this, I'm not positive). It's not that rare of a problem though... it may have just happened during shipping. I know heat can distort alot of guitars.

      Northern Ontario (Lake of the Woods). One of the most beautiful places in the world. Spent a month every summer there when I was growing up. Water skiing, fishing, swimming, growing (added at least an inch to my height every time I went). After I came to Japan, my parents sold the cabin. I still cannot allow myself to think about it. It was like a member of the family - far more than any pet.
      "Golden Pond" has nothing on the beauty of Lake of the Woods - but they do both have Loons and their beautiful calls at night.

        of the most beautiful places in the country! That place doubles its population in the summer with all the tourists and such. And it adds more stress to me as well. You see alot of lil planes goin fishing out of there to other small lakes throughout northern ontario, and a few of them crash leaving me with hercules (search and rescue plane) coming in and out of the airport

  I haven't switched before, does it cost alot? It seems to me that if it cost on or two thousand dollars it might be worth it. I just bought my first house a year ago, bad timing. I lived on base housing before that, which isn't a bad deal, but it put me behind the housing game. So I am kind of new on the whole house buying/owning thing. I don't need an equity loan though, I would be just looking for a reduced mortage rate.

    it wouldnt benefit you to refi unless you are getting 5.5 or better, you should try a cost benefit calculator to see how long it would take you to recoup the closing costs of a refi, or unless you payment(on the refi) is less than 1/4 of your net income

      What I think I will do is wait and see if the FED drops the rate again, then I think I will have a good chance of getting 5.5 or lower. I have been making early payments and have been paying more principal every month. So I would hate to lose any momentum I have started.

at k-mart (new job). its awesome because no one around here goes to k-mart, so I walk around and talk to the hot girls that work in the clothing department for 6 hours :P and sometimes i get to work in electronics because my good friend is basically in charge of everything there. i still have a year until I can actually work in an electronics department.

      but the big thing is money. So staying in residence is kind of out of the question. I'd love to but i can't haha :P.
      I wanted to try and play AAA hockey this year so I might have a shot at a scholarship, but I got cut right at the end (I'm kind of short for a defenseman) so I got the boot over some of the taller guys. Ah well, I'll be going somewhere local so I can commute everyday.

in the AF. I work at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas and I work in an Operational Test Squadron. In short, any new item, software or bomb that goes on a F-22, F-15C/E, F-16, and A-10 my squadron tests it for use in the Combat Air Forces.
My background is Space and Missile, started out operating ICBMs in North Dakota and have since worked with GPS, Space Launch, and Early Warning Radar (Cavalier, ND) but now I am in the flying world trying hard to drink from a fire hose.

I haven't updated lately but essentially all I did was pick games against-the-spread. I love sports and especially the NFL. No wonder you knew a lot about Bill Simmons from ESPN (and dislike him).       My favorite receiver since he fake mooned the GBPacker fans, Randy Moss, is absolutely KICKING DEFENSIVE BUTT out there. And Brady finally has the support he needs to do some kicking of his own. Barring Brady injury, this Patriot team is going to put themselves way up with the best that ever played the game.
      The Colts are going to get trampled in week 9. I can't wait. I am a fan of Peyton, but he and his Colts don't stand a chance against the 2007 Patriots. I hope I am wrong. I can't wait to see it all go down!

        satellite or cable package. Actually, either method costs a ton of money, so I satisfy myself with highlights and stories off NFL.com (they really improved things this year) and then watch the Superbowl at school on Monday morning every year.

        I will be checking it out often. Glad to hear you are a Pats fan, papi! I have always had respect for them, but this year, when I discovered they picked up Randy Moss, my allegiance shifted to their team. I am a QB and receiver fan and I had basically been a Colts fan since Elway retired from the Broncos and Peyton Manning started on the Colts. (Any consistent team loyalty would have to go to Minnesota - hence the initial liking for Moss).
        This year, what the Pats are doing, is dream football for me.

I'm a student in electrical engineering at California State University Los Angeles. Though, I began college at the hardcore California Institute of Technology. If I get straight A's this term I can go back there and finish my EE degree. I'm on track to do this too. I love it...
