Gears movie to be shot a la 300?

Seems one way to solve the budgeting woes for the Gears of War movie is to employ the same tactic used to create 300: shoot entirely on green screen. I don't think this is a bad idea, given the stylized look of Gears. In fact, 300 actually reminded me of Gears in some ways (blood splatters, etc). Not that comparing the two really matters that much, but after seeing what a talented crew can do with a green screen in 300, I have no fears if they take that path with Gears. I just wonder where they're gonna find four huge guys to play the leads. ;-)

it would cut the cost down to around $60 mil as apposed to $110 mil.
Now you just need to find a studio to pick up the project.
If a movie studio accepts this budget purposal, than I will be completely stoked!

Matthew McCaunaghy as Baird
Lester as Cole(idealy)
Marcus and Dom are major questions though...

    I actually really liked him as Riddick. It's not like Marcus's character demands any subtlety of emotion that only "good" actors could portray.

        I'm glad other people like Vin Diesel. He used to be one of my favorite actors just because he is so bad-ass. I still like him a lot, and I LOVED Pitch Black so much.

how can studios spend huge amounts on movies they know will likely, or have a pretty good chance, or bombing, when they won't shell out for a film they know will more than return the love.

  the budget is pretty high, but not SUPER OUTRAGEOUS. Also, GEARS is a popular form of entertainment. Less popular books and things come out all the time and make alright dough. But it will be risky. I HOPE they go for it though. Even if the movie sucks really bad, it would be awesome!

i heard that the (none / 0)

gears movie got canned. apparently the director bugged out. idk though...thats what i heard. i would check sources but im at school and they have an internet blocker so cant go on any other websites beside gearheads.
