Apocalypse

Has anybody ever seen the movie based on the Vietnam War and the book Heart of Darkness call Apocalypse? Well...

My English class has been watching it and it is a pretty good movie, very violent though. Anyways, it got me wondering why there has never been a video game based on the Vietnam War or the Korean War. Every other war fought in the last 100 years has been covered, even the Iraq war. It cant be the matter of public opinion because the Iraq war isnt that popular and there is already a game about that or at least based on something similar. And, that would not cover the Korean War. I was just wondering what you thought.

an old game on the orignal Xbox called Shellshock: Nam '67 i believe. It wasn't anything special, and I've never been a big fan of jungle warfare in video games.

      dude, I used to be able to almost speak French fluently (not my first language) but i haven't done it in years so I've lost some of it. But from time to time it comes out ;)

        I totally understood what you said, but sadly I totally forget how to speak and write it. all the conjugations and stuff I completely forget. I can read it still, but not really write it or speak it. But I'm sure if I started up again it would come back :P

the movie Apocalypse Now? If so i have seen it and it is a really good movie. As for video games I remember Battlefield made one called Battlefield:Vietnam. I don't think it had a story or anything just online multiplayer.

A vietnam game (none / 0)

is pretty impracticable. The ending would be lame, the U.S and Vietnam signing a treaty. In WWI and WWII games, allies win(hooray) and everyone is happy. You are fighting to win the war and beat the axis forces. But in nam you are playing to uh never win? The game would be in part glorifying the U.S's enemies for their outstanding method of combat and prevention of a U.S domination. After playing the game I would not be able to yell, America, FUCK YEAH, like I usually do. :-)

    of war games is to make it accurate. Sure you could create a game with Vietnam settings and make it completely fictional. But then you wouldn't be able to truly title it as being part of the Vietnam war.
