Well he is back again and targeting microsofts halo 3 http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157884

Re: Halo 3
Dear Mr. Gates:

As you know, the Federal Trade Commission has repeatedly found that games rated "Mature" by the video game industry-captured Entertainment Software Rating Board are routinely sold to kids under the age of 17 despite the age rating. The most recent failure rate of the ratings on "Mature" games, according to the FTC, is 42%. The entire rating system is a fraud, and "broken," the latter description aptly provided by Senator Hillary Clinton.

As you also know, Lee Boyd Malvo trained on Microsoft's Halo to further enable him to become the remarkably efficient "DC Beltway Sniper." That was reported by NBC News at the time and was noted in Malvo's criminal trial.

You appeared on CBS' 60 Minutes II and rather revealing and usefully noted that "the cool thing about these games is that they transport you to a world you think is real." Precisely. Capcom has recently disclosed to investors that your video game industry's violent games, sold to children, pose a real hazard to the health of the industry. Right on.

The hyperviolent Microsoft Xbox 360 game Halo 3 is scheduled by your company for commercial release in September of this year. The Beta version that was released last week shows us all just how violent the game is and how inappropriate it is for play by anyone under 17, as the "Mature" rating it will surely receive indicates.

Here's the deal, Mr. Gates: Either Microsoft undertakes dramatic, real steps, through its marketing, wholesale, and retail operations to assure that Halo 3 is not sold, via the Internet and in stores, directly to anyone under 17, or I shall proceed to make sure that Microsoft is held to that standard by appropriate legal means. I have done that before successfully as to Best Buy, and I shall do so again as to Microsoft and all retailers of Halo 3.

Regards, Jack Thompson

TAKE THAT MICROSOFT! Jack is holding you responsible for what retailers do!

I'm going to go and train some more, so you guys don't have to worry about dragons.

  •  funny (none / 0)

that he targets halo not gears or a actual violent game

He doesn't target gears because he really doesn't give a shit about video game violence. He's an attention whore. He sits around waiting for a tragedy, and when one happens he blames video games. He uses it for media attention. If he honestly cared he'd go after the esrb and retailers to try to make it to where it's a crime to sell M-rated games to minors. He goes for the highest profile games because he's more likely to pick up media attention. He's an ambulance chasing lawyer.

wait for the day that everyone in the US is under attack and needs to know how to dual weild an SMG. But wait! They don't know how because they got their halo 3 taken away when they were sixteen! This guy honestly needs to have a cattle prod covered in acid shoved slowly up his rectum. We may find some interesting stuff on the way up! I am extatic that I am turning 17 in a few months so this dick won't be able to take my Halo away... I'm 16, I have seen blood before!!!

love how he calls it "hyperviolent," when we've been talking about how much more gore there should be in Halo.  What a fucking pussy bitch, I think that's the best way to describe him.  I was laughing my ass off when he started to cry during that one interview.  So, does anyone wanna go hit the training arena or what?

I'm feeling California and looking Minnesota.

jack thompson is a nut and anything that he says should be disregarded just like you would disregard something that a mentally handicapped person would say.  he just wants attention and that is what people are giving him. if everyone would just ignore him he would go away

has sand in his vagina.  seriously, there has got to be a better use of this man's time, and the money that is used to pay him, than making sure some 16 year old kid doesn't play halo.  it's ridiculous.  First of all, halo is not even close to firing a real gun.  You cant expect to be aptly trained to fire a gun, by playing a VIDEO GAME.  there is almost no training value, aside from maybe hand-eye coordination?
seriously, Jack Thompson must have a very large stick in his ass.
I'm 16 years old.  I know that it's not acceptable or ok in any way to shoot a real gun at another person.  I'm a pretty average kid.  No one, (aside from the severely mentally deficient), would get inspiration from a game, especially halo, to go out and kill people.
  •  well you know.... (none / 0)

If aliens ever invaded, giant dragon lords tried to destroy the earth, or the world was overrun with Orcs, pff I could take em, I train on my 360 all the time.

Thats like going to military training saying you have amazing aim because you get headshots all the time in a game, shooting a real gun is waaay different than twiddling your thumbs on a controller.
