One of my favorite games of all time is Shenmue. If you haven't played this game, well you are pretty much screwed because you have to go buy a dreamcast and the game for the system at that. But needless to say it was the best thing on the console and still leaves me with everylasting memories of its in-depth plot and innovative use of open world gameplay.

The main reason i made this topic is because the game SHENMUE 2 still exists. It launched on xbox one and was pretty darn badass. I mean, the game looked like crap compared to other xbox games visually, but scored in the 9's for gameplay.

Next time you are at gamestop, definitely pick up the game. It comes with a DVD that has all the cinematics from the first game to get you up to date with the game's plot. Sadly it ends on a major cliffhanger (just like the first) and any work on a third is apparently canned. (i guess there is a eastern MMO with the series being made). I truly wish that the series gets revived, but regardless it is something everyone should play with at least for a while.

  but i also knew your opinion on the Forza series, and that changed drastically once you were exposed to elements of the game you missed at first try.

that is one of my favorite games ever that nobody playes Jet Set radio future you can get it now for 3.00 seriously it is in my top 5 games of all time and Shenmue i herd was the most expensive game ever to make never played it though

  I have the Sega GT (2002?) and JSRf collection. Both games on one xbox 1 disc.
  Is this backwards compatible? I hope so, i played through JSRF multiple times.

    i'm not going to lie, the first time i played jsrf was in a hudsons in the mall in the kids section while my brother was getting school clothes and i was hooked the second i played it

didn't work for me so i just bought a new copy for 2.99 used at gamestop. IDK you can try it maybe they fixed but it didn't work before

This game was awesome back in the day, I still like to play it. Zoso your right Shenmue was a good game, the original soul caliber was really good too.

it was a rip off of the early nba street. i think it was by action vision (the tony hawk guys)
that game was off the hook

was my FIRST ever game on ANY Xbox. Could not pull away from that game. Since I wasn't as game friendly I didn't know what it God's name I was doing so I think I need to go back and try it out again. Along with Shenmue.

  Apparently JSRF and Shenmue II are both backwards compatiple. Pure and utter greatness. Expect to see me playing those two games soon enough.

  awesome! I wish they would port the original. Remember, the original was before GTA3 and it sported sandbox like gameplay. A job you went to and worked at. A realworld clock (same as life), a music box you could listen to at all times. TONS of mini games like darts. You could spend your money gambling and then go buy stuff. Not to mention a kickass fighting mechanic, Resident Evil like timed sequences (before they were popular) and incredible story and length. The end kills you because of its open ended nature. Thats where shenmue 2 starts.

And speaking of awesome Sega xbox only games, Panzar Dragoon Orta is amazing.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shenmue 1 and 2, Shining Force and Skies of Arcadia. I don't think enough people played them at all. Toy Commander comes to mind also, that needs a re-make something fierce.
Shenmue is awesome, I should replay them both, bring back some good times. My son, who was about 4 at the time, cried when Shenmue was over, when he got on the boat and it sailed off. :-( I have got to see what happens next in that world, come on Shenmue 3.
