How Many Rings of Death do you Have?

Wed Jun 20, 2007 at 12:34:30 AM EST

Since coming to Gearheads I've seen a lot of red ring of death lamentations.  So, I'm curious to know.  How many red ring of death episodes have you each incurred that resulted in the repair/replacement of your xbox360.  I'm on my second failure right now, and am waiting to get my second replacement through MS Warranty.

Here is a little poll for us to tally the carnage:

recently. But it had it coming. I was rough with the console, and it lasted as long as it should have... i am going to miss the trooper. :/ Hopefully his trip to the doctor helps him.

It definitly didn't last as long as it should. 1.5 years while amazing for a 360 is pitiful for a console. Consoles should last. at the very least 5 times that.

i took my 360 places all of the time, left it on all day for most of the time, tipped it over myself while running, and left it with the kiddies for a while as well. I wasn't soft with it, and any console (including my PS2 or original xbox) would have broke under the stress as well. By this time, i had already gone through 2 PS2s by launch. And my xbox broke after a short while as well.

If i would have been decent to my 360, it wouldn't have been broke right now.

but I do have a Disk Reader Eye issue. The only time I've had the Rings are only when my intercooler knocked the Power Cable loose, and I wouldn't count that as the Rings of Death since it was only 3 rings and now a Hardware issue.

I bought the 360 last September, but it was still launch hardware, because even now, Japan has still not sold through its launch stock.  ha ha ha

for me. My first one that I got the December after launch (not for x-mas) died 8 months later, then I went to Wal*Mart and bought a new one, brought it home and hooked it up, and it died INSTANTLY when I turned it on. Traded that one in, and got a new one, which I currently have now. Hopefully it lasts me a while so I can save up for an Elite :)

More than 100 consumers have written to SmartHouse complaining of either poor service from Microsoft or total failure of their gaming console.
