This is absolutely terrible news! Apparently due to size and compatibility issues, the new content will be PC exclusive... As soon as this news gets around there are going to be TONS of angry fans such as myself. :( I REALLY want to fight that Brumak and no its looking like that will never happen, I just don't have anywhere close to the money to buy a high-end computer and not to mention buying GOW twice!

  •  Thanks for the heads-up (none / 0)

on the official word from Epic (through the interview).  I had heard rumors of this before, but this is the first time I have seen direct quotes on the issue.

Anyway, too bad.  However, that content will undoubtedly be included as the start of Gears 2 for the 360 version.  The down side is that we will be intimately familiar with most of it before Gears 2 is released whether we buy the PC game or not (the press will have videos and screens etc).

All that is gold does not glitter.

  •  I figured as much (none / 0)

but I still hoped for the new mp content.  Now that it was explained that they used a different version of the Unreal 3 Engine, I fully understand their position.  I say great job to the folks at Epic for their work on the 360 title, and I hope to get a chance to play the PC version.
  •  I am actually (none / 0)

not that disappointed. Honestly, I don't think that I will be playing gears nearly as much once this fall hits anyway. Would have been nice to have though...
  •  ^Agreed^ (none / 0)

I had really hoped to get the content, but it's not that big of a loss to me with all the amazing games coming out in the comings months.

Here's to Gears 2 being everything the original was and more!

I know that this fall, I will have enough trouble giving enough love to all of my games. Gears is just going to have to live with the fact that I will be having some new love interests. It's already getting jealous of CoD4 ;).
  •  LOL (none / 0)

    sucks for you guys! ;)

  •  well... (none / 0)

im going to be too busy playing CALL OF DUTY 4!!! wich will without a doubt be first on the list of most played games of xbox live, and halo 3 on second place, people will really be disspointed, too much of the same thing, just new guns and almost same graphics, but that is only my opinion, and well, for a gears of war that lived on in 360 gamers will now live on with pc gamers, you will always stay in my heart gears of war

  •  It'd be so awesome (none / 0)

if Epic released that for us.

How about if they charged $10 for it? I know I'd buy it.

However, they would probably get criticized a lot for charging, so it's not worth their time really.

Dang, this may be the SECOND reason I need to redo my computer. The other being Crysis.

I wonder how well my current A64 3000+ and 7600GT woud run it? It'd be interesting to see to compare that to X360..

    Bioshock's graphics are average.

    •  not well (none / 0)

Both your CPU and GPU get crushed by teh almighty 360! :) In terms of preformance, the 360's GPU is quite a step up from the 7600GT (i mean the 7800gtx isn't even as powerful) and your CPU gets danced around by the multi-core CPU in teh 360.

I mean, you could hopefully run on low settings, but   i dont think that would be a very good experience for a 50$ product.

  •  I guess I will be buying Gears TWICE (none / 0)

Thanks for the heads up. I was just going to wait and see if the content would come to 360 via DLC.

My rig can handle the game just fine but I dont think I can go without playing the new campaign levels, getting new achievements and fighting that damn Brumak!

    There goes $50 more bucks.

  •  Disapointing (none / 0)

But I expected as much, we're lucky they even brought it on the 360.

Paintball rules... but is expensive :(
