Marketing at its finest...

Possible Spoiler? Just a warning- what you are about to encounter is a depiction of a huge battle presumingly towards the end of the war with the Covenant in Halo 3. The people who made this had no specific details on the ending of Halo 3 and it is said this will not spoil the game in any way. But, if you don't want to know anything at all about the game's story, including some rather revealing things about the end steer clear- that goes for the comments below as well...- otherwise get ready for one of the coolest experiences in entertainment...

GearHeads, I have something you must look at asap. You have undoubtedly seen the new commercials for Halo 3 and the huge "Model" of the final battle for mankind's survival in the Halo world. While those commercials are two of the best pieces of marketing I've seen there is something tied to them that is better- The "Believe" official site is up and lets you move through the model and take screenshots anywhere and save them to your computer. WOW. I am honestly speechless right now.

An example of a screenshot I took and have saved as a wallpaper on my computer...

And another...

Here's what Joystiq had to say, read this until I explore some more:

"Just launched is a brand new Halo 3 Believe website featuring an interactive view of the diorama which is being referred to as the John-117 Monument. The Believe website allows you to "fly through" the action, see all the models, take a look at the buildings and all the detail involved. Not only that, but along your journey you'll be able to capture screenshots to use as wallpapers, be able to read soldiers' battle stories, watch the recently released commercials and partake in full 360 views. It's crazy madness! We also noticed few videos that are locked until October ... we wonder what will they reveal."

"Links to the first two commercials (including a lengthier 90 second Diorama TV spot), the online Believe fly through website, documentary video and other information about this Halo 3 diorama of awesomeness can be viewed over at Xbox.com. Honestly, we were skeptical at first and were unsure about all this diorama talk, but now we're in love and can't wait to finish this fight. We need a tissue."

OK, I'm going to do my best to explain this, But I really am hesitant because you HAVE to experience it to understand it's brilliance. Basically you start at one part of the battle model and by pushing forward and back on the arrow keys you are led through the battle. As you move through the battle little blue square's represent something that can be clicked on. There are dozens of diaries of soldiers, some videos (a few that can't be viewed until 9/25 or October) downloadable pictures and explanations of the enemy and Master Chief himself and soooo much more. Also you can take a screenshot at any time and it creates a wallpaper (viewable above) that you can save to your desktop. You really have to click the link above to experience it.

Also, be sure and check out David's post of a few videos including the "Behind the Scenes" of making the Believe video-
