New iPods!

These look absolutely rediculous. I love my zune, but it's going to have to step aside for the new iPod touch. These things look incredible, they have internet built in, and they are only $300-$400! The only downside is that the come in an 8 gig model and a 16 gig model, not quite as big as the older ones.

      i sold the zune because i like the ipod better. I knew a new ipod would come out soon so i am not wasting my time with the zune

        -Size is replaced with being TEN times stronger.
        -You don't can't mess up or accidently change volume.
        -Zune support of audiofiles is MUCH better and can take ANYthing directly from itunes if you know what you are doing.
        -Not to mention a bigger screen and more vibrant image.
        in addition
        -Radio (thats a big deal)
        -wireless filesharing
        -Linked to gamertag
        Also, with my ipod, uploading my music to another PC with itunes would basically erase the music. And when you turned that off, it would recognize or add songs. I plugged my zune into my new PC with only new music on it, and it automatically kept my old songs, added the new, and re-organized and updated my albums. Also, any videos i had (trailers etc) were on my zune based on how i wanted. I also have a custom background i made.
        Not to mention higher quality support of audio.
        I have an ipod video also, Zune trumps it.
        But... basic MP3 players tend to beat them all anyway, without a trendy manufacturing tag.

so I'm not worried about space, but I might need an upgrade, and sadly pass up the Zune.

the touch is lame. Stop shorthanding customers with 8gb. The REAL cool thing is the 160gb ipod.
Zune has wifi and i bet will include downloading songs as well. Lots of MP3 players have done this for a while. But Apple will make $ on all the suckers who fall for their outdated hardware wrapped in a shiney wrapper (minus the touch screen).
The thing is, touch screen is NOT something i even want in an MP3 player. My Zune could take a fall and be fine. Imagine how many broken ipod touches there will be.
If you are gonna get an IPOD. DONT GET THE TOUCH>. Get the 160gb like a pro instead of a n00b.
Iphone sucks. But the drop in price is actually considerable.

  like the touch screen, I think it's nifty ;). I really like the touch because of it's wi-fi internet. I will definitely wait for them to announce the next zune before I make any decisions though.

    denying the fact that the screen is not going to be very durable though.
    Give me core needs like higher than 8gb and 16gb pleez, before you give me touch screen.
    Its like driving a 94' Honda Civic with custom 22" Gold rims.

      see what you're saying, but the truth is that MOST people only need about 16 gigs. I'm a big music guy, so I would need to shrink my library a little to fit it into 16 gigs, but I may be willing to do it if the zune can't top it. I really wish they had made a 30 gig model though, that's perfect for me. I really hope the new zune actually USES its wi-fi instead of the lame music sharing thing (which I have never even used).

      Good lord, iPod videos and normal iPods break too often as it is, with a touch screen, I don't even want to think how many broken ones there are going to be.
      And the Zune picture and video quality is 10 times better than the iPod video's.

    is the most appealing thing to me and in the guided tour, they didn't actually show that until the very end of the video. WTF?
    I have the 60 GB video ipod and I like it, but I honestly never, ever use the video function. There is something about watching a movie or TV show on such a tiny little screen that's a turn off.
    I like the new touch ipod, but I'm probably going to wait to see what to go to next.

I'll stick with my Zune for now... (none / 0)

I love the experience I've had with the Zune and well, I have Vista and a 360 so I have to stick with it right? ;)
But seriously, when Live Anywhere is fully flushed out I'll be happy I stuck to the Zune brand. I can't wait to be able to access my friends list on my phone/Zune. (please let it happen, please let it happen, please let it happen)
Although the IPhone did impress me when I played with it a few months ago. The on the go internet is the thing I was most impressed with. But, I'll wait and see what there is next for the Zune franchise. They have been really quiet lately in terms of Zune stuff.
Do you guys think a new Zune will be coming in less than a year? Zoso, machete GearHeads, your thoughts?

  so... If not, I really don't think it will have a chance competing with the new iPods. I'm really hoping they at least announce them before the end of the year, but I really doubt they will.

      but I have a 30 gig ipod, and I've never even used a Zune, but my Ipod plays music when I hit the play button, and my cell phone rings when I get called. (a Razer or whatever, got it for free) I dunno but I like having my stuff seperate and doing what it does. And i agree with papi the video thing is kind of useless, but what I want to see is the music library thing like they have on itunes where you can scroll through album covers to find all of your music. I think its really neat and something they should add.

        different people definitely have different needs. I actually use the video feature ALOT on my zune. It's great for watching a movie when everyone in my house is asleep or for long trips. I definitely see what you mean though, most people only use their music player to play music (which is what it's really meant for).

way i cant wait to get this new ipod...i think its just mainly cuz i spoil myself since getting myself a great job with great money! so if i see a toy that i want well i go and get it... this new ipod has definately peaked my interest so come sept 28th ill go and pick one up! wont be able to use it much at first tho cuz ill be too busy playing H3 hahahahah

out with since the first one that nobody had. of course i only bought the new ones because the old ones kept breaking :( i might have to try this out if my current nano ever breaks
