Wow. That is really all I can say. I am incredibley impressed at how determined Microsoft is to punch a hole in the iPod market. The new zune social (still in beta form) is one of the coolest things I have ever seen Microsoft do. You can basically see what everyone on your friends list (automatically detects you have a live account) has recently listened to or has set to their favorite. Here's an example:

  get a 30 gig (my recommendation) for $200. Definitely worth getting the zune pass for $15 a month for unlimited song downloads too. The only downside to the zune pass is that certain you still have to pay for certain songs, usually ones that are hard to get the rights to, like Zeppelin.

  the 30 gig and after the most recent update, I couldn't be happier with it. Before the update, it would take a few seconds to load everything with the occassional longer wait. Now, everything is instant and it's incredibley easy to do anything you could ever want to do.

I just discovered that I actually like about Microsoft is now officially stomped out and killed... my launch console just got the 3 red lights :,(. Is it me or am I the fifth gearhead within a month to have this happen? I have a feeling it is something to do with xbl. Scott... it looks like you console is the lone survivor of the gears launch consoles.

Isn't this a bit like 1984, i mean we can see the last song he listened to on his Zune, as well as his library. Isn't it going a bit personal? I know you need to publish it and all but i see some "hacking" and "virus" potentials popping up.

really cool. I honestly didnt expect to see something this cool coming from the zune. After i see how good they do i might pick one up. I need something that plays video right now. I only have the iPod nano right now and i wanna be able to put videos on my iPod.

        Now, me thinking you were a musician I thought that you wouldn't take that path, but seeing as you did, well, you're an idiot. Have you listened to Lamb of God? Sacrement? Check out that album and tell me it's "muddy amps" and how you can't "understand" what they play. And just because they play fast means they whack off too much? That may be YOUR 'practice' but seeing as they have wives, I doubt that's their way to play fast.

        why below I say 90% metal is garbage. I'll agree with you that dimebag is great and the guitarist from lamb of god comes up with some great riffs. The music I was talking about is the mainstream speed metal. Plus, I put a winky there meaning that I wasn't completely serious at all.

      but a lot of it sounds the same. And the musicianship isn't really that great at all.
      And one of my, if not my favorite bands is "PINK FLOYD". Nightwish was evidently influenced by lots of their stuff.

        you Pink and so-on i like Nightwish and so-on. I just cant get into it you know. I have tryd in the past but just cant get into it. Now Nightwish as soon as i herd Nemo i was struck and when i herd Ghost Love Score (epic song) that was it. I'm more into the softer side of metal. Bands like the two mentioned, Lunatica and Epica.

      but his phrases repeat a lot and every year he doesn't really bring anything new to the table. He is excellent at what he does, but he doesn't grow at all.
      He also talks about the importance of the blues and classic rock into his playing. He mixes some pretty standard blues/rock scales in with his metal style more than most players in his genre.
      Thats why i cannot listen to a lot of "metal" music. The rhythms are all extremely similar and the solos lack any innovation or soul. I mean, besides signature tone's most metal guitar virtuosos sound the same. You give Page, Hendrix, and Clapton all the same guitar and amp setup you could tell right away who was playing based on their style.
      I like Metal though. Mostly stuff like RAINBOW (or anything with DIO), Iron Maiden... etc. Metal back then had a better vibe than today. all the songs about death and shit are cool for a while but after a little bit i start to think a lot of these guys are just running out of material to write about.

        The new Electric Wizard album - Witchcult Today, very "sabbathy" (Sp?) this is doom metal at its best. These guys are from the UK and i have hung out with them even helping them set up at a small gig. While partying backstage....

        I have "Come My Fanatics" and it is VERY similar to Sabbath. Honestly, it sounds like Sabbath with the tempo turned way down, which adds to the very "doomsy" sound. Good Stuff!
