Do NOT post any spoilers/cutscenes/media for the Gears 2 Campaign!

Alright Gearheads, the admins would like to make this crystal clear that absolutely NO links to cutscenes, spoilers, or media that might spoil people’s enjoyment are allowed to be posted on this site.  Regardless of placing SPOILERS warnings, divulging anything that has to do with Gears 2’s Campaign will not be tolerated.  Let’s be respectful here and not spoil the experience.  Those that wish to find this information know how to do that over the Net.

Update [2008-10-12 23:36:13 by Blankman]: In light of Papi's stance on the posting of spoilers, please just denote that it's a SPOILER in the thread.

    I heard during FFF that there were a number of full leaks.  I Don't want to know!  I know enough already.....  Can't resist...

    But until Gears 2 launches I will not be visiting any other gaming websites because I don't want to get sucked in...

    Know the end is like going to "The Empire Strikes Back" and some says  "Hey, did you know that Darth Vader is Luke's dad?!!"

    I'd kick the hell out of that guy! :-)

    posting something as long as they clearly mark SPOILERS in the headlines of their piece.  Maybe I'm alone on that, but I don't really care about being surprised that much.

    If someone doesn't want to see it, don't click on it.

      disagree with both you and Papi (happy crunk? ;P). If we just don't have them in the first place then we're just dandy-ful. If people want to know things in the game then they should just look it up.

    You seriously don't care about the surprise being ruined Papi? After the long wait finding out crucial twists in plot?

    Obviously a definite ban is a bit harsh, but temp bans sound completely reasonable in my book.

    So as we approach this epic event of a game, let's remember something....Spoiling Halo 3 will result in death.
    I'm sure there will be people who will finish the game (fight) first and want to talk about all the awesomeness that you've seen and heard but don't. Just don't...while I would probably pay right now to know some things about Halo 3, I want to save it for my first play-through and i'm sure most of you do too.

    So please no diaries discussing anything that hasn't been shown before story and campaign wise. Please, please, please use your best judgment as I'm sure zoso's banhammer has been pulled out of the closet just for this occasion.

    I know we won't have any problems, and you all did an amazing job of not spoiling Bioshock, so keep up the good work.

    Please do not post anything from anywhere near the end of the game, or a place that might reveal something about the story.

      Read the thread and find me something that says people can't post LINKS to places with Spoilers. You and I even teamed up on that thread listing sites that have spoilers for those who don't want any part and didn't want to stumble upon them.

      That thread strictly focused on people talking about spoilers openly on the site and for people not to create diaries centering on spoilers to prevent this: "Halo Ending!: BLAH" as was plaguing many other sites.

      Had the idea been proposed that spoilers could be talked about with the "Spoilers" warning I don't think I would have had a problem with it. (And if you continue to troll and find me saying otherwise, that's fine-my opinion has changed with experience)

      I understand the confusion that clearly may have been presented but over time I've learned that the more you tell people what they cannot do, the more problems you will have. Also, with the entire site backing for the action at the time, my thoughts were partially just supporting what everybody wanted to do.

      Certainly the threat of banning people for openly posting about Gears 2 spoilers on the site, FragFest or in Diary titles is totally legit. And, I do understand that if someone is told not to do something, they clearly are told and they do it anyway, Tyler has the right to ban them. But the idea of someone getting banned for posting spoilers WITH a spoiler warning preceding just doesn't sit well with me.

      I really didn't want a huge flame war about this and frankly if we drop this, I wouldn't think twice about it.

      Zos, I've loved you since the beginning but the fact that you would seek out diaries a year old to try and bring me down just seems to bring out your thoughts of me.  

      Again, I'm find with dropping this is everyone else is.

        After that story, if someone would have made a diary with a link to the end of the game, it would have been a ban. And the policy held for Bioshock and Halo 3 were completely different.

        So whatever.

        The reason i respond to you in this manner is because i view you in no way "above" any of the gearheads. I am not going to hold back crap when i see it because you have  a "title" In fact, in terms of fan service for "GEARS OF WAR" many gearheads support the site just as much if not more than you do.

        I love this site, i have helped here since the beginning and brought a good amount of friends with me. (gearsforums, gowgamer)

        I don't want a flame war either, but that doesn't mean i think what i posted wasn't valid for discussion.

        I have had so much fun with this site since the beginning, all the cool dudes here especially- playing with me almost every friday. But to be frank, i think the amount of "fun" and positive stuff on this site has seriously been fading, and i do think a good amount of that has to do with you sweety.

        This doesn't mean i dislike you, or even think bad of you, it's just that you seem to have a different approach to the site. One that is drifting farther and farther from the original concept of the site, and the reason i was proud to call myself a gearhead.

        It seriously sucks a dick to even have to write this, but i think i needed to post it. At least for myself. I am hitting the sack, will read your response later tomorrow when i have time.
