My xbox 360 is dead. RROD. I live in Canada so does anyone know on how to get another box? The date on the back of my box is 2006 - something [tbe month doesnt really matter i think]

Do I still have warranty?
+ What do I need to get it repaired by microsoft?

[BTW, I bought this console USED from a store. Stupid me. Saved me a 100 bucks though.]

    I've had mine RROD twice.

    Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX

Tell them what happened and they will make you do some useless things like disconnecting the hard drive and disconnecting the power.  Once they determine for sure its RROD they will tell you that they are sending you a box

Took about 5-10 days for the box to arrive.  The box comes with instructions but pretty much you strip anything attached to the console and put it in the box and drop it off at a UPS location.

The first time i sent mine in i sent it on a tuesday and a new one was at my house on thursday of the same week.  The second time it took about 2 weeks.

If you can't go without an xbox for that long i suggest buying one at Futureshop or Best Buy then returning it once you get yours back.  I did it and had no problem returning it.

I got my xbox fixed though. Cooled it with a fan for 30 minutes straight- covering all sides plus power block. Will do if it comes again though. Thanks sbrooker.

      •  Colt, call Xbox and get them to send you the box (none / 0)

now because good chance it'll blow again soon. I'd almost send it in now and get a new one then wait and have it die day 1 of gears.

They dont charge you anything for the box or shipping so may as well, and mine took only 6 days from when i sent the box out and got it back fixed.

Sorry to hear that.  Well...  Get the wheels rolling.

You've still got enough time to get in back (Nov 7th)

    Good luck!

    •  well when it breaks down again (none / 0)

because it inevitably will, Microsoft is going to charge you $110 CDN to send it out and get it fixed if your warranty is out. Or buy a new one with cash, grab a heat gun, switch all the bar codes, including the ones under the faceplate, and put everything back in the box and make sure you didnt screw up the tape or anything. Note that this process is illegal. So its your call.

Ps. I swear I've never ever tried something like this before ;)
