Unbelievable. . .

Part 2.

I call Xbox and they agree to get my xbox and 'replace' it. Sure.
So they say remove all chords, accessories, faceplate, etc from the box that you are sending to them. So I do. Then I remove my faceplate, lucky me, I see the Microsoft Warranty sticker. Let you know, I have never modded and use LEGIT games. Anyways, the warranty sticker looks like it was touched. By touched I mean, a little scratched at the top. Do you think MS will think it is modded or opened? It looks like the top of the sticker has been scratched in a way that it's "glitter" is being revealed. I bought this from a guy I met for a cheaper price but I don't think he opened it.

Good Lord, if this warranty trade-off doesn't work out, I'm planning on spending all my savings for new games [other than Gears 2] for a $399 Elite and buying it BRAND NEW. Jesus. Comments anyone?

Oh, and do you know any stores that will make deals if I give in my used 20GB Premium Console and add some money to get another console? Thanks.

As long as it is still within warranty you should be good to go. Does the sticker just look like it was scratched a little or does it look like it was peeled down? I doubt they will mind if it is a scratch.

On a side note I just ended up making the jump and getting an Elite as well since my son knocked over my 360 which destroyed the dvd drive and the game that was in it at the time (UT3). But I am now loving my Elite. Now if I could just find a place that has good no payment no interest for 2 years type deals, I would get a decent TV to play it on.

this might answer your question. I was researching about 'scratched' to 'ruined' on some forums.
    The guy posts:
"if your wondering if your warranty sticker has been broken or removed take the face plate of and check it should look like this "
    http://www.teamxmods.com/images/code...

And that is what mine looks like.
This means I wasted $399 on a used purchase and now I am forced to buy a better console for the same price but as well very dissapointed..

Ugh. Let's just hope Microsoft let's this one go. If not, I'll call them and plea.

  •  Gamestop will give you decent trade in (none / 0)

credit if you go that route. But I don't think the warranty sticker thing will hurt you.

won't accept it as a trade if they sticker has been tampered with.  I had a old PS2 and my brother took it apart to clean the lens and I forgot about it.  They would not take it.  Just a heads up.

      •  i just traded in my ps3 (none / 0)

and all they did was check to see if it still played games. When I traded in my old 360 for the halo 3 one they did the same thing. So who knows

thanks. I'm really considering on buying a PS3 but I bought so many games and i LOVE the online so I'll stick with the 360.

Does anyone know what I can do with my xbox 360 if the warranty sticker is messed and I cannot get a warranty refund?

I need money, a deal for a newer console or at least a refund in some way for this junk..

        thanks~

        •  try and sell it to some poor chap (none / 0)

cus if microsoft won't take it and you can't get a store to give you trade in for it then you are pretty much fucked. So selling it to some unsuspecting fool is your only out lol
