I don't know how many you'll be getting, but I'd give it a shot to test 'em out as well. I've always wanted to know how these really effect gaming in Shooters, so I'd like to try them out for myself.

I would love to test this product and see if improves my skills in Halo 3.

The joystick on my newest controller is missing a little bit of the edge because my wifes rabbit got a hold of it...so that would help out in more way then one.

So that must mean that Im in for the testing right?  Well if you get enough to go around I would love to do some testing cuz well my sticks are feeling a lil worn out.

hey everyone, donnie walker here, from kontrolfreek.  I wanted to personally thank gearheadsofwar for posting the article and i am excited to get you guys parts to test.  however, i will not be sending prototypes, instead ill be sending over production parts as soon as we get them.  i think there was a misunderstanding on that.  the prototypes are expensive and we only have a few left.  I assure you tho, once i get production parts, ill send a handfull over for testing and reviews.

for those asking what fps freek is and what it does, i will break it down for you.  The fps freek is an extension for the analog.  it makes the analog longer thus adding more leverage to it.  so how does that help?  more leverage means you can overcome the springs in the controller faster and gain some extra movement of the analog you didnt have before.  also, more leverage "longer stick" adds a larger range of motion to the analog, thus adding more precise aiming.  what we have found is this, you can actually increase your sensitivity in games like halo, and still keep your aiming precise at the same time.  so now you can turn your character around quicker when getting shot in back, but still keep the smaller movement on the analog for fine tune aiming.

Hey Guys, I just took a look over at 2Old2Kwit.  Been a while since I visited there, but I discovered that the FPS FREEK prototypes have already been reviewed and discussed by a number of sites.  (KontrolFreek, you should have mentioned these reviews!  ;) )

The FPS Freeks do a lot to resolve this issue, essentially lengthening the analog sticks to provide a longer lever-arm so as to make overcoming the resistance of the springs in the analog stick easier. With more leverage under one's thumb, the initial resistance in the first 20% of the analog stick's throw is greatly reduced, making the motion of the analog stick much more uniform.

After a few rounds in CoD4 adapting to this new feel, we realized we rather enjoyed it. The biggest benefit, in our hands, was the ability to make very small aiming adjustments without overshooting the motion. Instead of spraying bullets at people back and forth, the precision of the longer analog sticks made it much easier to draw a bead on running players and input just enough on the analog sticks to keep it on them without leading increasingly too far ahead. Fighting barrel-rise in light machine guns was also easier, as we could maintain a constant down force on the stick at roughly 40% of its throw, just enough to stay on target without overshooting and aiming at the ground.

steady thumb while sniping or in a huge firefight would be nice. Using these in a driving game would be awesome as well.
