Is G4 about to make a comeback?

I know how most of you guys, well almost all of you guys, hate g4 with a passion. The only decent show for awhile was attack of the show.

But have you guys resently checked out the new x-play? Instead of just reviewing games, they now sit down with game programmers and ask questions, check out new games, and demo many games. Its like attack of the show w/ the tech, so it is TRUELY a game show.

Now if only they would bring back some of the old tech tv shows, I think g4 will be back on top. You guys really should check out the new x-play, same hosts, different format.

  If you're referring to their "comedy skits" of old, they're completely gone.
  This year with the new more in-depth format, I doubt they'd change that and add them back in (oh, but they have Pro Tips by Tom "T2" Taylor from Str8 Rippin! heh). It's also nice to hear their opinions on some of the subjects as well now.

For me, X-play was the only reason I kept watching G4. It offered a glimpse into the past that G4 was (why am I apparently the only one who liked G4? When I turned on TechTV one day to find it by a new name with a tons of shows about games, I was overjoyed. But now it's like everybody hates them for it.), which for me was late 04-late 05, and I liked it for that.
I guess I'm just not a tech kinda guy. That's why I never really minded when G4TechTV started eliminating some of the old Tech TV shows with G4 shows. I wanted to hear about games, wanting to break into the industry myself, so this was my dream network.
And then in 06 they threw it all down the crapper because they got a new exec and spent up all of their budget (and then some) in '05.
Ninja Warrior and COPS make it better though, right? Right? Honestly, G4 nowadays is nothing more than a Spike TV clone.
Sorry if my post sounds like I'm rambling. I just have a lot of frustrations with the network that I've never really gotten over. But to comment on the actual post.. X-Play = better than ever.

  But, like you said, shows like COPS and Ninja Warrior blew it. I won't watch that channel much anymore, but the new X Play sounds pretty good.

never could get into X-Play because of the hosts, there's just something about both of them that I can't stand. I would much rather watch Attack of the show.

i like x play (none / 0)

now. i never used to tune into it before but the new redesign is actually pretty good. They talk about a lot of stuff that im interested in (i.e. Super Smash Bros Brawl) and that i may not know about that i should be interested in. I think everyone should at least try to take a look.

anyone catch the episode of attack of the show when hotlivia (thats what I call her ;]) made an error while reading the teleprompter and instead of saying "M.C. (space) Hammer" she said "McHammer" (as in McDonalds)?
It was hilarious, I suggest you search it on youtube or on her myspace.

Attack of the Show used to be Screen Savers.
When they had all the stuff with Tommy Tallarico (however it's spelled) and Vic something.
X-Play only had Adam has the host.
Arena opened my mind to the glories of online/LAN gaming.
:(
Now it's Cops, Cheaters, Cops, Cops, more Cops, X-Play, AotS, Ninja Warrior and more cops.

    Remember last year, and the beginning of this year when they kept advertising, "wait everyone, Electric Playground is BACK!"?
    Of course the fine print was that it was back in the sense that they were offering short online episodes of the show. I've never even checked it out once I realized that.
    That was also a great show with Tommy Tallarico and Victor Lucas.
    Arena was one of my favs too, and probably contributed to me liking MLG so much nowadays. Too bad it got canned in late '04.
