Anyone picking up Rainbow Six Vegas 2?

Tue Mar 18, 2008 at 05:29:55 PM EST

I'll be getting my copy tomorrow around 3 p.m. and If anyone is up for some games I expect I'll be playing for a while.
There are a few deals you can get on Vegas 2, depending on where you get it.  If you buy it at Target, you get a $10 gift card, at Best Buy you get a code for unlocking a rifle (woot?), Circuit City will give you a "Gamer Energy Pack", that consists of an energy drink, and a candy bar. (or something similar).
Best of all though, is Fry's Electronics who is selling the game for $39. Because we don't have those up here in Minnesnowda I'll be getting mine at Target.

One more deal with the game is that there is a free downloadable map courtesy of Comcast.  All you have to do to get it is go to the main menu of the game, select extras, then go to Comcast Gift.  you'll be prompted to input the code, which is "Comcast Faster"
After that, the map is yours. Enjoy.

too many games, and I still want to play CoD4 a ton more, and I can always have fun with Gears.  I just don't need anymore game for now.

      •  Actually... (none / 0)

Army of Two is very fun & challenging if you are playing the co-op campaign with an actual friend.  I picked this up yesterday & I went through three missions with JohnEmidnight.  I haven't tried playing it in the single player campaign, so I can't comment on that aspect.  However, I've heard and seen some gameplay on the single player AI getting hung up on obstacles & downright stupid at times.  The co-op aspect of the game was surprisingly fun, but I hate the cover mechanics of Ao2.  Gears cover mechanics remain the best that I've experienced.

Neither the two of us has a disposable income like Zosy or Poland (hehe), so we pick our games with much scrutiny.  You guys already know what I think about Condemned 2.  That's a must-buy!

As far as RB6: Vegas 2 goes, this title will wind up plummeting in price by fall like all the Ubisoft Clancy titles.  Unless there's a Fry's Electronics close to you (advertised for $39.99 on March 20th), just wait.  The extra features: sprint, thermal enemy mapping, & extra weaponry; just don't justify a full price buy for me.  As 3Suns has already stated, there's just too many great games that are currently out right now.  I don't doubt that Vegas 2 is solid game, there's simply a gluttony of games waiting to be played at this point in time.

I have played the first mission of the campaign and a bunch of local terrorist hunt.  It's been really fun, totally different pace than CoD.  The character customization is really in depth, with dozens of different camouflage  patterns for your character.

The leveling up is also a completely new design, with your base experience resulting from kills, and A.C.E.S. experience from kills of certain types such as headshots, grenade kills, and kills on unsuspecting enemies.

Overall, I'm having a lot of fun with the game, although I haven't begun to scratch the surface yet.  I'll put up more impressions later.
