Co-op and Army of Two Review

Yeah well its not really my review but it is a review from the great folks at G4's X-play. They reviewed it and put it up on the internet a wee bit early but thats all right with me. i for one has always be psyched about this game. For some reason i just love co-op games. For example Kane and Lynch. It got horrible ratings, but because i have a brother who is old enough to deal with the language along with a best friend who spends enough time at my house to be considered a brother, i thought the game was amazing. The co-op part of a game really just makes a game for me. There is nothing better than working in tandem where your buddy has to carry a person and you have to watch his back. Or your a sniper in a building 1000s of yards away saving your partner's life with an amazing shot over your partner's shoulder to hit a guy sneaking up on him with a chainsaw.

However, there was a fear in me that Army of Two would absolutly blow because of who is making it. "cough" 'Ea' "cough" Ea hasnt really dont much when it comes to shooters. But thankfully they got their shit right on this game by pushing the release date back by a week or a couple of months. They updated it took out the bad and fixed everything else because x-play gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. Which really isnt that bad.

They compare some aspects of the game to a little game called Gears of War if anyone's ever heard of it. And they say that the story is really well told, adn might rivel the great story of Cod4. The story takes place with 9-11 and on an alternate reality of stuff with that. You also get to customize your weapons with anything from a shotty below your assualt rifle to a 5 foot sniper barrel, and you can even add bling to your weapons, such as gold, silver, adn platinum rinstones

Anyway, Army of Two was built from the ground up Co-op. You are either Salam or Rios and there are tons of great co-op manuvers which you can preform. Such as when one of your teammates dies you hand him your gun,  and have to drag you buddy to safety while he shoots with yours and his gun.

All in all i cant wait to pick this up. It is set to release tommorow. Sry for the rambling, and sry this isnt a amazing poem like Zoso's.

  •  Hey (none / 0)

Let me know how this game is, I watched the videos and it looked...different. Purely because they seemed to be getting just rallied with bullets and surviving and it was more open style combat in the middle of the map where u just shoot millions of bullets in hopes of killing someone, so i was kind of optimistic about it. If you pick it up tomorrow let me know how it is, because if its good then i'll for sure rent it

despite the gaming industries rock solid incorruptible journalism reputation.

Anyhow, I'll pick it up and play it.

so that I could get the code for the exclusive unlockable weapons.  I only had an hour or so to play last night, I've been nursing a sick wife doing chores and taking care of the kid, but I did enjoy what I've played so far.  The cover system reminds me of Gears as does the fact that if you just run out in the open and try to go in with guns blazing, you're done.  I don't know how many times my AI partner had to revive me last night but it was alot.  However, it's nice that you can defend yourself to some extent while your waiting for you partner to revive you.  Overall I've had fun so far, I also purchased a couple weapons and upgraded them as much as I could and "pimped" them out.  I'll give more of a review in a seperate diary when I get into this a little more.
