Last night I was playing the mission where you go to the arcade to see Dwayne's ex and her new guy. No matter how hard I tried I could not catch that SOB on his bike! I finally gave up chasing him and rocketed my way to one of the intersections before he got there, got off my bike and took aim with my AK as he got closer. It only took two shots and I knocked his ass of the bike.

use LB to do a drive by while you are somewhat close to him.

ya that's my thing...

I'll clearly shoot him in the back 2 or 3 times and nothing will happen cause I'll be on the chase...then out of no where he'll slow down and be able to drive

It gets somewhat easier as you play

it more. That was my problem at first.

But yeah, you're right, the some missions do get a little old, but oh well, that's GTA and it's still kick-ass ;)

Subway-biker mission?

And Sweety, I'll be honest... I have little to no trouble with the Chase Missions when I figure out that it has to be a scripted chase. There's no real advice I can give because you are a good driver as well. I've just said the Hell with it and I just reload my save after I die. Not worth the $100,000+ spent at the damn hospital.

Ya that's what I'm going to do...

In about 5 minutes I'll be down town liberty city having spent at least $100,000 on guns and ammo lighting up the city.

When I'm done, I'll just load my last save and be good to go =)

just beat it in 2 tries. First time I was doing wheelies after him and killed myself hitting traffic and second try I killed him within 30 seconds of starting the chase. I just shot him off of his bike.

ARGH

I do a mission for fun and I accidently leave Auto Save on.

Wasted an hour on my Liberty City Minute achievement, and have a big fat 1 Mission Failed
as well as an even bigger Died: Once.

First off, that auto save feature is practically useless and I dislike it with great intensity (though having to return to the apartment and sleep for 6 hours in NO better). Secondly, I have always had it on, so I am sure then, that there is a record somewhere of my having failed every mission from about the third taxi request on. Woop dee doo!

It's

so that you can't save yourself into a corner. This was a HUGE problem in Oblivion and alot of other open world games where you could save your game and not be able to progress through the story.

Just have fun with the game.

Stop worrying about the Achievements and just play it the way it was meant to be played.

If you don't like GTA4...

Go back to Halo, that has a TON of bugs as well, i haven't played it for months.

I think they "NAILED" GTA4, yes there are some bugs but the AI is excellent.

Maybe your spoiled by HALO.... :-)

I know your kidding but the

Halo jokes are getting old...=)

I try to bring Halo up as little as possible because I know someone will say something...Even in this GTA4 thread where I haven't even mentioned Halo 3 my fandom of it is brought up.

That said, I'm going to go play some Halo 3 because for the 7th mission (3rd in a row) I've had to follow someone and kill them...same thing~they won't die until I get through a "cool" chase scene then act as if they want to be killed...sigh-i need a break from liberty city~30 hours in now!

has been the only one to bring up Halo. And if you are getting bored of GTA just take a break. It's tough to play any game for 30 hours without it getting repetitive lol. I really don't see it as something to warrant a complaint :P.

still don't get why some people rag on this game every time it is mentioned, if you don't like it you don't have to play it, that's why the disc tray on our 360's open and close LOL ;) We all have our opinions on games. Sweety you can love Halo 3 all you want :)

Ya...I don't know what it is...

I LOVE the game and have a hard time putting it down but there are some things that I keep seeing that really piss me off for some reason. It's like, I see SO much possibility and potential for a seriously perfect game and I just feel GTA misses it...

I really

think if you know what it is going into it (NOT a perfect game), then it really lives up to the hype. If you look at it too seriously and compare it to more traditional scripted linear shooters, it begins to lose some luster, but if you compare it to games like Saints Row or other open world games, it really is a phenomenal experience.
