Frankie really is an iconic figure in the Bungie world and I'm sad to see him go elsewhere...The good news?

"I am leaving you. I am off to work more closely with Microsoft on the Halo franchise, so I shan't be too far away..."

"And on that note, let me tell you a bit about the coming years. It was very hard for me to make the decision to move on, but one thing that made it just a bit easier, was seeing the amazing work that's coming down the pipe. I was busy working on a story for one of our next games, an experience that is destined to surprise, amaze and entertain like nothing we've ever made before."

is just amazing to me.  Don't get me wrong, I think that free spirit, risk-taking approach to life is fantastic.  It just continually catches me off guard.  I think it is especially prevalent in the Games industry.

    Gears is my porn.

    •  I agree Suns. (none / 0)

I think its partly due to the hours a company packs into a week or month or year.
I would expect it can get pretty stressful and the grass may appear greener on the other side of the fence.
      •  That really shocks me as well. (none / 0)

Ever since Frank left OXM to go over to Bungie, I thought that he would stay there for the long haul.  Yeah, he's been there for a long time, but I guess his heart was in it for the Halo franchise since he wants to do more.  Alex Seropian (Wideload Games) left when MS acquired Bungie as well as a lot of talent like Max Hoberman & his crew (Certain Affinity).  It still boggles my mind when people leave successful companies/teams.  Whatever happened to the good old days when you started & ended your career with the same folks that were with you every step of the way?  Wow, those days are long and gone.  :(

        I'm a Gears Fluffer!!! Wooohhh!!!
