Gears 2 Release Date set for Nov. 16th?!?

Alright, no one knows the exact release day of the most anticipated sequel for Fall 2008 except for MS & Epic.  Gamestop/EB Games has it currently listed for November 3rd.  Lester "Rasta" Speight, the vo-cap actor for our beloved Cole Train, made an appearance for a Q & A session with TriForce (new license holder for 1:1 Gears armor/helmets/weapons). When he was asked about when we could expect to see the game, he responded by suggesting that they ask him again on Sunday, November 16th.

Now remember, Epic announced Emergence Day for Gears on Sat., Nov. 25th eventhough retail stores received the game & were allowed to sell it on that Tuesday.  Epic chose a weekend for their official launch because they wanted as many gamers to have their hands on the game as possible.

Update [2008-6-1 17:24:49 by Blankman]:This was just announced for November 2008 by Microsoft, "Today we can assure you that Gears of War 2 leaves precisely to Europe on the 17th of November."  So this does look like the North American release might be authentic eventhough MS hasn't made that date official yet.  Regardless, get ready for Re-Emergence Day!

    In any case, I'm afraid I've been refraining from drinking the Kool Aid.
    Don't get me wrong, I've been looking at the Kool-Aid.
    Thinking, "If only I had a glass of water, I might drink this tasty and refreshing looking beverage".

    What I'm really trying to say is, I don't want to get too terribly excited about November when we've barely gotten out of May.
    Of course, I'm sure I'll be picking the game up come November day 1, but as it stands Gears of War just isn't on my radar yet (sleepless nights from here till November? I think not).

    In any case, while I'm sure that November 16th is as good a date as any, the fact remains that I'll be more than happy with my Halo 3 until, say, September.

    This is, of course not to rain on the parade of any Gearheads who are excited for Gears of War right freaking now, but I don't believe I'll be able to be level headed about this game unless I keep my pessimism high.

      the sentiment and respect that self-control, but for me, I am just letting myself get all caught up in this one.  For me, this is THE entertainment event of the year, just as Halo was for many last year.  I may find that some of the gameplay changes in Gears 2 create big challenges for me, but I will be putting in the time to make it work.  Heck, G2 couldn't possibly have more shenanigan-ery than Gears 1.

      When the guys showed me jousting, I thought of you.  You should attend the next Festival.  Who knows, maybe by that time we will have figured out how to set up a lemonade stand by Boomshot!

    but I'm unbelievably excited for gears 2. As soon as I heard it was released, Boxin and I jumped on gears simultaneously and played for hours. Even with all of it's shenanigan's, I find myself always going back to it. Cod 4, GTA 4, Orange Box... yeah, they are all fun, but even with the problems of gears, I always find myself loving every minute of it.

    Seeing the game play of Gears 2, and reading about the new weapons and add-ons just makes me want it even more.

    Videogames tend to come out on tuesdays. My guess would be Nov. 25th.

    i love gears almost as much as i love alabama football
    although im very nervous, will it live up to our hype?

    i really want gears2 to take it the next level and from what has been leaked(released) it looks like it should  meet or exceed our expectations
