Here we go.

Got MGS4... Its amazing. Seriously.

Vista is the worse OS ever. After finally fixing it, it is having errors with my display drivers. XP SP2 here i come.

UT3 PC is AMAZING. Character customization, mutators, graphics are amazing.

We all need to get this day one on 360. I will post screens later this week of character customizations, the graphics which at a core level surpase even gears! o.o (At least on PC), the insanely awesome physics changability in levels...

The amount of vehicles and guns... the gore...

oh jeese.

What else... hmmm

MGS4 is VERY good. I haven't wanted to miss a moment in the cutscenes, that are VERY well done. And how about the intro to the game? HIDEO 2!!!

  already beat the game Zos and it is awesome all the way through. I'm going on my second time through now. The cut scenes are some of the best I have seen in a game period, they never bore. One of my favorite campaigns that I've played in a long time. Have you tried UT3 on the PS3?

    But PC version is superior at the moment. Mostly because i hate the PS controller, and NO gearheads to play with.

      are making me do this. Im gonna run out after work and pick up UT3 for my PS3 and then I will turn it on for the first time since may7th (when I watched Juno on BRD, only know this cuz this was the day my gf left for the summer) and will add all the gearheads PSN's so we will get some UT3 gaming with gearheads. But you will have to bear with me cuz Im still no that familiar with the set up! i.e. friends lists, game invites, sending msgs not sure how to do all this yet but hopefully its not to too hard!

A bunch of people had it at school and from talking to them Vista's working great now~I haven't had any issues either.

      or around that time. Don't worry, VISTA will come and fuck you in your ass.
      These display driver issues (making it so i can't play games) are after i had to wipe my harddrive and re-install vista AFTER a auto-update made all USB devices stop working (bye mouse and keyboard). It also decided to KILL my 750GB harddrive which is unusable now.
      XP SP2 ftw.

        I have given Vista more chances than i should have. Now that it actually costed me money by frying my USB devices... and made playing games on my high-end rig impossible... yeah.

Quick question... (none / 0)

Should I get BF: Bad Company tomorrow/today even though UT3 is only 12 days away? I'm definitely getting UT3 since I've never played a UT game, and this one looks amazing (not to mention the Gears 2 bonus footage!). So I dont know what I should do. I'm currently playing through Alone in The Dark, but I also want a good shooter to hold me over 'till UT3. So should I get Bad Company or not?

  with a $60.00 game that you don't play after UT3 comes out, then go for it. I can't imagine that you will be playing it enough to make it worth the full price of admission, though, so rent, or buy it with the intention of getting almost all of your money back when you trade it in (if you can do so). Also, remember that it is EA. I believe it is going to be hugely broken in many ways, right out of the box. You are going to end up being their "beta" tester, as are launch day buyers of EA Live capable games. Those are my thoughts on it.

No really... hehe. anyway I have to harp on you when you complain about vista. I have been using it since pre-alpha on all my computers. In fact I am running Vista Ultimate 64bit on all my machines. NO ISSUES. NONE. The fact that your getting graphics issues is a vendor/driver issue, not a vista issue. That's like blaming ford when you blow a tire.
I play Gears of War (Windows), UT3, Hellgate London, Supreme Commander, GuildWars and more on my Vista machine with no issues. Running a Geforce 8800GTX in my machine. Alright, semi-rant over... flush....

  are only with Vista users.
  And just because you don't have a problem, means nothing in the big picture.
  I have dual 8800ultras in SLI and i expect to be able to play games also. But I have had to spend A LOT of time getting them to work, when i went to developer sites and posted on their forums all cases led to it being the fact that i had vista.
  I hope you don't have issues. But let me put this out there for you.
  1. Already a hassle to get some games to work, it would stop recognizing it and i honestly had to run most of my games in XP SP2 compatability mode.
  2. Some small issues here or there (like crashing every 2 hours that when i called MSI they blamed VISTA)
  3. An automatic update disables all of my usb devices and it won't recognize anything. The result is a pc without mouse or keyboard support and A BROKEN 750GB external hard drive, MP3 player.
  4. I look online and find many articles about this update killing peoples usb, and ruining some of the devices plugged in. After hours of searching i found the only solution, reinstall/ clean wipe of the hdd.
  5. I reinstall vista and start from scratch. This takes MULTIPLE hours even on a 10k hdd.
  6. WOOT i have a PC again! Now to install all the drivers for everything again (that actually takes a good amount of time)
  7. Install my steam games and UT3.
  8. Loving maxed out UT3 at 1080p resolution!
  9. About 30min later my screen goes black. Display driver issue comes up.
  10. I look up the error/issue code and guess what. I find forums of people saying that after tons of time calling their card supporter and tech people, they informed me it was another vista issue and error.
  11. I pack my bags and after spending countless hours troubleshooting, having hundreds of dollars in devices broken, and not being able to game?
  FUCK THAT.

    mean the vast majority of people are. There are hundreds of thousands of people with Vista and the fact that a comparable handful on the forums have issues is very normal.
    All of this confusion is why console gaming is better- Clean cut, almost zero issues and NO CONFUSION.

      is far worse than it should be.
      It is common knowledge among gaming forums that the use of vista alone drains performance. Even Games For Windows and dx10 games.
      Even the GFW (Games FOR Windows magazine) crew talked about vista sucking. Jeff Green literately told listeners to stay with XP this last christmas.
      I am sticking by what i said 100%. Read all my posts of old supporting the OS even when i was having some trouble making games work.
      There is a reason i am forking over the money for XP SP2. I haven't been able to game regularly for the last 3 months. I couldn't even use my PC for the last 2-3 weeks.
      It's rediculous.
      Most of my issues with it are on the gaming side though. So if you aren't planning on gaming, it will probably be stable.
      But at that point, i would just go with a Mac.

        OS especially when you have a phone with windows mobile and especially with Vista. Don't give into the dark side that quickly zos! =P
        And for it's issues, what I'm saying is that it may have more than the average first year or two problems for an OS, but still those problems are among a relatively small community compared to the hundreds of thousands who are using Vista without issue.
        I'd agree that it doesn't seem like Vista is a gaming OS, yet...Why don't you just go back to XP?

        I already have a MAC in my household, and tbh it works just as fine for school things. And if you have an IPHONE the same interconnectivity exists.
        Vista is horrid for gaming at the moment though, for every game i played i can give you a problem that occured due to vista.

I have been playing UT3 on the PC for months, LOVE IT! It ROCKS your F***N Socks! Unlocked all the characters and armor combos, now I just wish I could do custom colors for them... I WILL BE PWNING YOU WHEN IT HITS THE 360!
