But his review of Super Smash Brothers and now Metal Gear Solid 4 have made me believe that his taste is almost exactly the same as mine.

I've got to give it to the guy, he's blazing a path through the fanboys without any fear of consequences. I can't imagine that many will just downright ban themselves from his reviews if he continues to piss folks off.

The funny thing is, I used to think he was a tool, but I've come to actually truly appreciate his perspective.

I think the only game he likes is Portal.
But he is good and entertaining

      I actually just watched his COD4 review.
      He is very vague at times.
      I guess thats why I like his reviews. Even when he likes something (like GTA4), he finds ways to poke holes at it and make fun of it.
      The only one that i've seen him blush over was Portal. I never really got that game anyway. It was cool in a puzzle solving way, but come on...
      I wonder if it has something to do with him thinking that he is smarter than the rest of us.
      Either way, I still am entertained.

one time he seems like a cool guy but you can't ever really tell. I like his reviews he is pretty honest. I'll watch this when I get home but the SSB review was funny.

  He very clearly has a point to his reviews. Is there a ton of humor in there? Hell, yes. But he also brings up a lot of points that I don't see a lot of other reviewers discussing. Sometimes the guys who have a legacy with gaming don't view things with fresh enough eyes.

    but clearly he is purposefully adding humor in any which way he can in his reviews. That doesn't discredit his reviews in any way, but at the same time, you can't take everything he says literally.

      he hates just about every game he plays. He does bring up great points about the games weaker points, but he never really talks about the better parts of the games he is reviewing. Bottom Line- Hes really funny.

with the change of heart, are you going to go back and re-watch his earlier reviews (with your new perspective)? I think you should. He has always made excellent points, even if I disagreed with him sometimes. Actually, the only time I disagreed with him was for Super Smash Brothers and my point of contention was only that he thinks it is all button-mashing luck. He's wrong about that, but right about everything else he said about the game (for my tastes).

sorry but that guy doesn't know what the hell he is talking about at all. He likes to just ramble on and on and on. I truly enjoyed the game, and from what he said he didn't enjoy any of the MG games, he claims they are boring, dead wrong. The MG story is anything but boring, and yes you can understand what is going on, especially if you played the other MG games. I've listened to this guy before and I really don't think he likes any games, I agree that he's just trying to be a smart ass because in my opinion he doesn't have a clue to what MGS4 or the series is about. Just my opinion though :) Oh and even if you use the pistol that knocks the enemies out you still have a great chance of being spotted, I think this guy played on the easiest of the difficulties.

and says a lot of truthful things about the games we love. If you can bear the criticism for favored titles, its refreshing to hear what he has to say.

MGS4 vid review is hilarious (none / 0)

But i actually LOVE the game. And i thought i was going to hate it. The cutscenes are very long, but entertaining most of the time. You can always skip as well. I have replayed levels multiple times taking different approaches and had a BLAST
