Its like I understand a new culture

I finally know what all the Fallout 3 naysayers are talking about.  After playing the original fallout I realized it will be VERY, VERY, different from the originals.  But my opinion is that, A. getting rid of traits was a screw up, and B. As long as its fun (oh noes I, a gamer said the "F" word) I'm game.

PS I will nuke Bethesda if they don't release a construction set on the PC.

  •  Traits are still in the game (none / 0)

You pick one every time you level up or something. And I am pretty sure they said they were coming out with a construction set for the pc but I'm not 100% on that.

I'm gonna saw me up some of that sex locust.

so people don't like it because it isn't like the originals? I think the reason people don't like it is because they feel that 100 hours of gameplay may be pushing it and that the game's story will begin to lose focus and direction after the first couple dozens of hours.

for the most part, it's because they put all the traits into perks, getting rid of any decent character customization (beyond looks), they screwed up PARTS of the lore (like the brotherhood of steel), they got rid of groin and eye shots (but thats to balance out Vats vs. real time isn't it), there are also no more children, no more random events when fast traveling, there are "essential" characters now.  I think this should rather be called "fallout: East Coast" rather than Fallout 3.

referring to the general gaming community, not just the hardcore Fallout fans. Also, you have to realize that they have also ADDED alot of features. You can't expect them to keep everything from the previous games, it would become cluttered and unorganized.

I KNOW it will be fun, it'll be my favorite game for years, but I'm a little worried about the character creation, getting rid of traits means that you have few options other than looks.  But real time combat, "dungeons," ect will be more than enough to make up for it.  Whats the fun in saying what will be good in a game when no one has said what might hurt it?
