Did anyone else grab Geometry Wars 2? I've had a chance to play it quite a bit and if you liked the first game even a little bit you MUST download this...

I didn't expect to be so impressed by this sequel but strongly urge everyone to check it out!

I'm working on a review now...Any other buyers?

downloaded the trial (none / 0)

version and its seems better then the original. They made it whole lot easier I had over 1,400,000 in the trial and I couldn't get passed 400,000 in the original.

  all the different game modes really improve your skills making the normal mode even more fun.
  Plus, you can dictate whether it is your high score or a friend's that is shown on the top right hand of the screen which is a nice addition.

  I'll touch on this in my review (if i have time to write it) but the music actually matches up to what is happening in the game.
  For instance, there is a mode where you can only shoot inside a bubble which is quickly becoming smaller...Once you leave the bubble the music fades back a bit but when you enter one again the music is blasting and the beat quickens...It's really cool!
  Plus, there seems to be slightly different music for every game mode which is a plus.

Great game (none / 0)

LOVE THE NEW MUSIC. Havent unlocked all of the modes but its a good time so far. Got this game mainly cuz one of my friends was obsessed with the last version and his brother got the new one yesterday so he made me get it as well. As he spends hours upon hours shacked up in my place! But I am enjoying it so far and think they did a good job on the sequel or trilogy w/e you wanna call it!

        do that but only in the confinements of your own living room. Its got 4 player co op and it is fun eventho at times confusing but I did a lil bit of it last night and had a blast!

        that's a huge kick in the balls. 'Cause they show that they can definitely do it, but wasn't included MP-wise. Now, I'm not being ignorant since there is the thought of Latency and Ping, but (and I might have missed it) they didn't even say why it wasn't included. But, as some can attest to, I'm not too great when it comes to games like this where Hand - Eye coordination is needed so much.

        a kick in the balls not seeing it but I take what they give me, as if I have a choice in the matter. I was upset when I first heard no online coop but what can you do. I really enjoyed the first and wasted many hours trying to tame the beast which in my case was untameable! So when they announced GW2 I couldn't not pick up the sequel to a game that I loved along with many of my friends!

    and never fully patched but that doesn't mean it sucked.
    No, Geo Wars 2 doesn't have online co-op but the single player stuff it does have is phenomenal and leaps and bounds better than ANY other Arcade game.
    Ruling a game out completely because it doesn't have one feature means your missing out on a really fun experience!

      features to be good. And that may sound like I'm contradicting myself, but I consider co-op a Gameplay Element so I'm in the clear. But as I said before, I usually hate these kinda games, but if it had co-op I'd give it a try with some buddies.

I don't Get it. I played the Trial of the first one. Watched the trailer of the second one. Downloaded the trail but haven't tried it yet.
Can someone explain to me Why this is good? It reminds me a Defender or Astroids only with more Chaos going on.
Do you have to be Stoned to enjoy this??
I seriously don't get it.

  I was thinking while playing it that it must be more fun while being stoned hahaha
  I guess for me I like the music .... you know I can't answer why I like it I just do? I think it's just fun trying to make it through all of the chaos.

  cuz its simple its fun and you get that feeling of accomplishment when you break your last high score. I know that the last one could've been a lil discouraging to people that werent that good at it but this time they changed it around and now even if you're bad you feel good. Some people may not like it but Im a big fan of the series. As for being stoned while playing sure it would make things more interesting as the colors and music is hittin all of your senses but you dont have to be to enjoy it. I know I do sometimes......

      on the DS version of Gemotry Wars (Geometry Wars Galaxies), which is basically the same as the XBLA version my highest score was 171 million something.
      I cant wait to see what i can get with a controller in my hand.

        that took me soooo long and it was so nerve racking breaking the 2 million, it gets really intense.
        but compared to Geometry Wars 1 for XBLA, they really toned down the diffculty. At least thats the impression im getting from you guys and if its anything like the DS version.
        Friggin broken xbox. And it wasnt even the red rings this time.
