Looking for a graphics card

Lately I've been looking into getting a new graphics card, I want something that is a decent price, and can run newer games at a decent FPS (I have a radeon X800 right now, not so good) and medium settings. I have been recommended the 8800 GT and after a typo I also ran into this:

I want to keep the price low, so what out there will give me the greatest bang for my buck?

I think it would be better (none / 0)

to spend the extra money on a 8800 GT, it'll at least have some longevity compared to the one on the link.

but make sure you have enough CPU and other specs to meet it.

bought it and i only have a 250 watt power supply and it runs perfectly. Runs most games on medium to high settings and is extremely quiet.
A little bit pricier though. But you get what you pay for.

    seems to be what I was looking for, how much heat does it generate, will I need an aftermarket fan?

      you will need an aftermarket fan. I mean, i dont have one and it never gives me any problems.
      you should be good with just the stock one.
