The 'Cast Is Back!

Joining us on our latest podcast is Senior Writer for Technology at Newsweek and Founder of the video game blog, Level Up - N'Gai Croal.

Something I've noticed while listening (none / 0)

is that every now and then the N'Gai's and Tyler's voices cut out. I don't know if it just happened in the editing or in the recording process but it cuts out some good stuff at points. Thought I'd let you know.

Also i liked the part about the release of sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooo many games around the fall. It seems like the companys believe they will sell more round then but as DRising, Stranglehold and BIOSHOCK have provern is that IT DOESN't matter when you release. IF the individual gamer likes the game he/she will buy no matter what rtime of year it is. Also look at how many triple A games are coming out in what six weeks (Far Cry2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Gears2 and many more). Shorely it is hurting the industry to have so many games (good ones at least) to come out soooooooooo close together, i mean this isn't the film industry where tickets cost £10 but games that upwards of £30. Wouldn't it be better for revenue and industry to spread out the games that way EVERY games has an equal chance.

  I really think its the "Holiday Rush" companies are looking for. I mean think about it, we have a holiday that's sadly become nothing more than buying things.
  That said, it makes for awesome Christmas's!
  But ya I think the holiday rush is the reason for the deluge of games around holidays.

    OK i understand that the companys want that "rush but if they could release it in a time frame IE summer were very little is released i think that alone would INCREASE the games chances of earing more money. I mean take a look at October, Fallout3, fable2, dead space, far Cry2 and MANY more games coming out. How many games are suffering cause of that "rush". We are now in a time were money is scarce i dont have enough too buy all these good games and many Gearheads have the same problem too. This is what i'm getting at, games are suffering with the sales because too many games are being release within such a sort time frame.

    as "just being about buying things". A lot of people might view it that way, but I view it as a time of year to reinforce the idea that you love the people you love. To me, my favorite part of Christmas is watching the look on my wife or daughter's face when they get something they really wanted and didn't expect to be getting. It's reinforcing the happiness of giving.

      at something like 700 downloads. But there was a podcast with David and Jason that passed 1500 downloads because they gave us some awesome Gears 2 info and the podcast got picked up by a couple major sites.

        the podcasts broke the 1K mark. If Papi can secure a podcast with Cliff BEFORE Gears 2 releases, the d/l numbers would be quite extraordinary. Personally, I think that any interview with Cliff after the release of Gears 2 would be a moot point since practically everyone would be playing the game instead of seeking more in-depth info on it. The key is to get the info while everyone is still salivating for it, not when their thirst has been quenched.
