Skorge in MP? Yes. Skorge in Horde? YES!

Ok, this may not be that exciting compared to everything else Gears 2 related that was released today, but I thought it was pretty cool. Now, we all know that Skorge has been confirmed for use in MP, (if not, you'll see it here), but what is just confirmed today in this article is that if you manage to get to the last wave of Horde (wave 50), you will be facing this badass Locust to finish the whole thing. There hasnt been any word about the last wave including normal Locust before Skorge arrives, but I would have to assume that its just Skorge, and that he's pretty damn tough.

  •  a couple of things (none / 0)

First, having learned that Skorge is actually the High Priest of the Kantus, I change my mind to agree with those who are of the opinion that there will only be 1 Skorge on the last level.  Since he has revive-others-capability, there are many ways they can use him creatively to make the level very challenging.  (Previously, I had tried to avoid info and that is why I didn't know he was Kantus until yesterday.  I don't care so much, especially since Epic is trying to keep the big stuff, from later in the game, secret.)

Second, I was shocked to read that the Dev team has already reached Level 40.  Unless they meant "Game Testers", I think we can expect a team of Elite Gearheads to beat Level 50 within the first couple of weeks, by Christmas at the latest.  The reason for optimism, however, is that providing further "levels" should be a cinch (though some testing will be necessary) and will require only a few k to download.  I think that Epic will be cool and release another 10 to 25 waves/levels at some point, if Horde proves to be too easy for the skilled players.  Hmm....
