  •  Excellant news (none / 0)

Having had the game demoed, running smoothly and quite far-along I might add, and then witnessed the lackluster gameplay of AvP, I've had a lot of trouble understanding where Sega is coming from switching hands.  Personally, its one of two ways: Either this was the deal the entire time and we weren't informed due to the status of Rebellion's game or there was some dealing going around to cash in on the newer films.
Hopefully not too much changes in CM, because that was a game Mr. "Long-Wind" Cameron could appreciate. Hopefully the rest of you get to see it soon.

Yep. I think that Gearbox is most likely dedicating almost all of their resources to Borderlands, after which, maybe they will be focusing more on A:CM.  Sega probably felt that they could focus more press exposure on AvP, give Gearbox some more time (to finish Borderlands and then jump back to A:CM), and simultaneously push the release date back a year (probably) so that these Alien games would be staggered.

That would be cool.  I am decidedly in no rush for this game, though I do want it, and I want it well done.

    •  Yes, that is what it is. (none / 0)

Gamespot is also reporting on it.

A rep for Gearbox echoed Pitchford's comments, saying the reason Aliens Colonial Marines had dropped from view was that the studio was focused on development and promotion of Borderlands, due out this fall.

"Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen."- Pvt. Hudson (gotta love Bill Paxton's character). Awesome news when I read it at work! I just hope that A:CM will actually see the light of day in 2010.
