FFF Recap: Bad Papi

Gearheads, my apologies for not making it last night.  Yesterday was a pretty long day for me.  It started with me getting my first ever performance review for the company I founded.  That was kind of surreal, but good.  

But later I went on a 10-mile bike ride with my new bike.  I towed my 50-pound daughter behind me in a trailer, so that was kind of tiring.  But then we went to Disneyland so my daughter could see the fireworks for the first time in her life.  She loved them, but it was crazy busy as most of the other So Cal residents were there.  It took us forever just to leave the park once the fireworks were over.  Now my daughter can't stop talking about the fireworks, so it was worth it, but I'm kind of glad I'm blacked out from going to the park over the next few months.  I need a little break from that place to recharge my batteries.  

Any way, that's a long way of saying that I didn't get home last night until about 11 and then I volunteered to put my daughter to bed since my wife was also wiped from the day.  By the time all was said and done it was 11:30 p.m. and if I'd jumped on to play some multiplayer, I might have kept my daughter awake as I'm wont to do when I have my turtle beach X4 on.  So I watched the NHL Draft on DVR and passed out half way through.  

That's my exciting Friday story.  I imagine you guys had fun last night though and I want to read about it.  So let me know what happened.  What game was the hotness?  Did SweetTea actually make a rare appearance?

    L4D rocked my socks. Missed the TF2 room sadly.

    Beyond that, good times.

    No worries about not making it Tyler, i got on WAY later than i thought i would.

    We missed you and many other Gearheads.

    I started about 4 hours earlier than I usually do when I have work.  Opened up a TF2 room, and Grymm, aamato, (Jambi for about 30 minutes) ArcAngel66, Timothy, Johann, and Cornelius joined us. About two hours in, Blankman joined.  

    We experienced some technical problems with a hacked map.  All the sticky grenades kept falling through the map, which rendered the Demo just next to useless.  Similarly, the game crashed twice upon startup, and caused for decidedly inconvenient restarts.

    Other than that, the actual gaming was great.  MVPs were won by almost everyone, as were Nemesis and Revenge awards.

    Eventually, we moved over to Gears 2 and played a few rounds with Infidel, but Blank had family commitments and I had a LONG overdue date with a dish of curry and rice for lunch.  

    When I returned, rED, Grymm, Zos, ArcAngel, and Johann were ready to play some L4D (tyrus even joined us before we actually started).  I didn't argue.  

    We had two great games, with an absolutely spectacular "Babe Ruth" moment, as Zos called the immediate demise of the Survivors on the 4th part of Blood Harvest.  Not only did all four of them get taken down 5 feet out the door, but we all made it to the safe room safely.  Unfortunately, we couldn't do it again for the win on the final stage.

    I think I was tank 3 times last night.  Let me put it this way, I still don't have my All4Dead achievement.

    Oh, speaking of the Tank!  Grymm tossed ALL four survivors off the roof with the Crane on Dead Air.  It was incredible!  Both he and Johann DID get their All4Dead achievements.  If any one has some helpful hints for controlling that behemoth, I am all ears.

    •  Last night was an awesome night of gaming. (none / 0)

      Had sooo much fun in TF2. Running around as the Spy, getting backstabs, having Blank heal me while I was disguised as one of his teammates. And then in L4D getting that Tank and knocking everyone off. It was priceless. And with Zos there to help with the lulz-factor. Last night was just a great night....

      I didn't know (remember?) that you didn't have Orange Box and you hadn't mentioned anything in the sign up.  Nate has joined us several times, so I just assumed that you had it as you guys are often gaming together it seems.

      OT  By the way, crowinghorse was also on last night, bringing the fire in Gears 2.
