Hardware Failure? 3 red lights of death.

Now, there have been plenty of writings on this site about this particular problem; but unfortunately as of late they had nothing to do with me, so I passed them by as a small sampling of "bad egg" systems.
But now mine has done it too.
So, I called tech support, spoke with a prerecorded fellow by the name of "Max", and eventually made my way to a real person.
Now they're going to send me a box and repair my console. So I'm gear-less, oblivion-less, even Halo-less, as I sold my original xbox for a wireless router and a Live subscription.
Does anyone know how long it should take them to repair it? I live in Connecticut, and as far as I know they are in Washington. The person I spoke to (that is, not Max) told me that it would take approx. 4 days for the box to arrive, 2 days to repair, and 4 days to return to me. So, there's 16 days in transit, and 2 days in the shop. 18 business days in about 3 and a half regular weeks. So, I'll be gearless likely till the end of the month. Will it take less than that, do you think? More? How many have had this happen? I bought the thing in March of 06, I suppose that's fairly close to launch, but I always got the feeling that it would never happen to me. I'm a fairly light gamer, I only play 2 1/2 hours a day usually, never tried to mod it or anything.
I suppose I should end this here, I'm probably just preaching to the choir, not really a whole lot I can do, and like I said in the beginning; seems there's plenty of writing on this particular problem, so there's no point in me really writing this. Does make me feel better though.
(I didn't proof read this, so any gramatic mistakes come with my apologies.)
