Campaign Length Revealed (Jambi Bum)

Alright so I found this article about gears 2 over at gamespy. Apparently they played through the entire gears 2 campaign on hardcore and it was 12-15 hours long. So about double to triple the length of gears 1. One thing I don't like about the article is that they say that it's iffy that gears 2 plays and feels a lot like gears 1. I don't fucking understand that. What is wrong with a SEQUEL being like the original. Do people want a completely different game or what? Anyways here is the link to the article
