The flash on my camera completely hid Circuitz's name. The final score is always shown so quickly. :(

(Cue Queen's 'Another One Bites the Dust')

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone

Hey, I'm gonna get you too

You got that right, Gearheads. About a week from taking down the Day One map in Horde on Insane, we've taken yet another one down for the count! The beast that was TKO'd is the Blood Drive map. At this rate, we're averaging one map per week! We've got thirteen more to go.

This group effort was shared by Zoso, Infidel, 3Suns, RoBBins, Circuitz, JohnEmidnight, Zoid, Koric, and myself (Blankman). Zos and Suns weren't there for our eventual victory on Monday night, but they were with us in spirit as they helped carry the bulk of getting us close enough to make our last stand.

There were several times when we would simply run out of ammo. As Suns has already documented on the FFF recap, Zoso was left with absolutely no ammo facing two remaining Grenadier Elites. After he inadvertantly kicked over one of the shields holding them back by trying to pick up some pistol ammo, they just bum rushed him. As Zos has already stated, "The highest of highs and the lowest of lows."

The key to our castling of a map lies in Boomshield placement. We reversed the shields to prevent the enemy humanoid-types from kicking them over. Big props go to Hydro Hypnos (aka Joey Corpse) for spreading the wealth. :) Infidel or Robbins would make a mad sprint to the Scorcher while either Suns or I stayed in the room to prevent the enemy from spawning inside. Another tactic that we've changed is not to immediately stick the smoke grenades at the entrances. The reason for that is that it simply has NO effect on the Boomer-types. It doesn't even faze them. Rather then wasting our tactical advantage, we used them against the humanoid-types and Kanti (plural for Kantus- LOL). We tossed them at their feet when they bottle necked (fatal funnel) at the entrance. After we took down a Mauler with our gun fire and Scorcher flames, one of us immediately grabs the Boomshield to plant it backwards at the entrance. Most of the time it's been my responsibility. It's about taking it for the team. Keep those bastards out of the room at all costs. After that, we had to slow the pace down on our expenditure of ammo since the chances that we could resupply ourselves were slim to none. Blindfire at the entrance and rear column are a necessity. Taking the time to aim essentially ends in death. There was one time when a Kantus managed to get past one of our Boomshields and Infidel chainsodomized him. JohnE and Circuitz poured on the lead by blindfiring around the doorway with RoBBins heating things up on the Bloodmounts, Grinders, Maulers, and Boomers who were stacking up in the vestibule. They didn't stand a damn chance when we used discipline and patience.  As soon as one teammate was running low on ammo, we would swap places with someone that had more ammo in his weapon. Rinse and repeat. The two teammates that had no cover to blindfire from would serve as medics. As soon as one of us went down, we would direct them to crawl out of the field of fire for a revive. After it was reduced down to three enemies: two Grenadier Elites and a Theron. We managed to secure a Mulcher and positioned it behind one of the planted Boomshields at the doorway.  We took out the two Grenadiers stupid enough to stray into our field of fire trying to scout us out. The lone Theron ironically died from a Torque arrow from Infidel's last Torquebow shot from the window in the alcove. Wave 50 defeated. Balls deep. Big ballas, shot callas.  Let me holla atcha! :D

Everything worked like a charm. We did an excellent job at communication and everyone understood their role. We brought that bitch down, boys! What's the next map to bend over to the Gearheads? We scouted out Hail and it seems like it will be the next candidate.
