The Man With the Golden Gun

So today after whats felt like an eternity of head shots I finally got my golden shotgun. I'm very happy that its the auto-shotty that is golden and not the pump-shotty. I never want to look at that slow firing piece of junk again.
Has anyone else succumbed to the horrible obsession of the golden guns? They provide hours of endless frustration, but is the pay-off worth it?
