Spore Creature Creator Contest! (Everyone's Invited)

Sun Jun 22, 2008 at 06:41:05 PM EST

After receiving countless text messages and phone calls from my brother (Nate) insisting I do so, I finally downloaded the free Spore demo via FileFront.  About 48 minutes later I had purchased the full $10 version.  In less than 48 hours I expect to have reserved Spore at a local game shop.

Upon seeing the excitement for Spore (due out Sept.) here on GearHeads and after experiencing the game myself I thought it would be only fitting that we have a "Create the coolest Creature" Contest.

Here's the quick lowdown:

*    A link to download Spore' Creature Creator can be found below.
*    We won't be accepting submissions until Friday of this week in hopes everyone will jump in and participate.
*    Top submissions will be picked and then voted on by the GearHeads.
*    Winners will receive a Gears 2 EGM signed by Dan Hsu and the respect of everyone here on the site. ;)
*    Click "Read More" below for the rules.

I highly encourage everyone to participate as the download is free and creating a creature and taking a picture of it can be done in less than half an hour.  Spore's creature creator is fun to play around with and a nice stress reliever after a long day's work.

If you haven't already, you can download the Creature Creator here:

I'll be posting a quick "How To" video showing the basics of creating a creature in Spore that should go up in the next couple of days.

So take a break from your usual gaming routine and give it a try...I'm not saying anything (yes I am) but creations based on GearHead celebrities (Blank, Suns, Papi) could get you extra points...and a Cliffy Creature~That could steal the show. ;)

Some Rules...

No penises~ I know it's tempting but leave that to your 12 year old cousin. ;)

A picture of your creature is an obvious must although using the creator's YouTube feature will definitely put you ahead. =)

Whenever you do post a picture of your creature (both for the contest and in general) try and keep the picture at a reasonable size.  Pics can easily slow down a diary or story if their huge.

Have fun guys!
