Well not really... But that is what I said last night, when I saw ESuns post that he and his Three Sons were all gonna get on for some TF2 (His Friday evening ~ and my 3am). See his Diary (Team Fortress 2 - Primer)...
It was about 10pm last night when I saw it. So I said to myself. "Self.... It's been a long week. Life's too short. Haven't played with my buddies in a long time, And It's my birthday in 2 hours...." So I Crashed early (my wife was already asleep from her treatments)... so.... I set the alarm for 3am.
"Buzz!..." 3am... Robbins was the faithful one (already on...). And already in a party chat with Really Doe when I got on (after I brewed some Java....). Really Doe didn't have Orange Box (Note to Doe... It's only $15 buck for a New copy!!!).
What can I say?... We had a blast! No Lag. And that is saying a Lot because of the Japan to Detroit , dedicated server thing a ma giggy (3am Hamsters and everything... they chirped up a storm, till I got them their own cups of Joe....). Oh btw... Did I say Detroit?! Yes.... yes, I believe that I did.. Duck fans... (Great series though... Definately a rivalry now) and... Bring on the BlackHawks!
Anyway, back to the subject at hand... TF2. There are some many good things to say about this game.. So many little bits that come to mind... (Speaking of little bits.... there is a funny thing that happens when you die by getting blown to bits... The screen shows little arrows in the death cam pointing out all your little bits.. "Here's a bit of you... Here's another bit.." lol.
What is neat about this game is that it allows for skilled players to shine who normally do (Like Robbins). He still gets his Sniper kills (Esun's diary posted he had 21 in one game!)... But what was special about last night (and I imagine any night that of a group of Gearheads play this game together) is that Strategy is King... I couldn't count how many times I heard Suns in discussion (serious voice) mostly with his boys... who btw.. are already solid players, about what Counter moves they/we need to do to solve our problem... Johann - "Kenai - can you switch to a Heavy, I'm gonna be a Medic" or Suns calling for us to change class to Spies to disable a boatload of Sentries.
Okay... End of Shameless Plug for TF2. Miss you all. Looking forward to playing again soon with you all (but out of town this weekend - as soon as the 5 o'clock buzzer sounds... "Yabba Dabba Doo!!!"
