Gearheads of War

Alright, Gearheads.  Here's the latest batch of prototype pics of the upcoming offerings from our friends at NECA. Randy & crew have been hard at work on Series 4 and 5.  I already covered some of those figures in my past diaries from Toy Fair '09 to the SDCC (Comic-Con) announced Gears exclusive:Gears Themed Energy Drink & More.  Well, here's a couple more pics of the weapons coming for the Boomer and General Raam.  Enjoy!

Our friends over at Figures.com (crowinghorse's crew) have a detailed feature on Neca's new figures for Series 4 and 5.  The Regular Boomer (full body shown), Mauler (head sculpt shown), Grinder, and Butcher will all be offered! Also, Neca took a cue from Epic and packed a golden Lancer in select Marcus Fenix carded figures. This not only makes it more valuable, but the ratio will be 25:1. So keep your eyes peeled before the scalpers scoop them up and charge ridiculous prices. In addition, NECA will be offering stylized versions of a few Gears figures starting with Marcus. Take a gander at these babies and start salivating!

Jess (crowinghorse) and his crew over at Figures.com did an awesome review on the new boxed set of Neca's Marcus Fenix vs. Locust Drone. For those of you Gearheads out there that collect figures, this one is worth picking up.

Oh yeah, baby! Neca has released a teaser of the General Raam vs. Lt. Minh Kim two-pack action figure boxed set.  Here they are:

Update [2008-12-16 11:13:1 by Blankman]:: Neca has confirmed that Raam will be packed with a Troika and knife while Lt. Kim will be packed with a Lancer and Gnasher.

Holy ninjas on fire wrapped in bacon! Take a look at these press pics of Neca's Ninja Gaiden II Ryu Hayabusha action figure. The figure has 32 points of articulation! Wow! Is there any doubt that Neca is the shizznit?!?

All of you know that I've been keeping you guys and girls updated with the latest offerings from Randy Falk and his band of misfits at Neca.  Well, our friends over at Figures.com have just put up some details of the upcoming goodies that will be released in January and the rest of 2009.

On the eve of the release of Gears of War 2, one of the most anticipated video games of 2008, fan-favorite action figure and collectibles manufacturer NECA writes to inform fans a variety of new Gears of War and Gears of War 2 figures will be hitting retail shelves in the coming months.

While specific release dates, price points, and variants have yet to be determined, the following characters from the award-winning video game will see release in action figure form in 2009 as either individual figures, 2-Packs, or boxed sets...

• Sgt. Marcus Fenix (w/ new likeness and new Lancer)

For all you Canadian Gearheads out there.

Futureshop is giving away "limited quantities" of the Neca locust headshot action figure with the purchase of any version of Gears of War two.  They are also giving free COG tags.

I was at the store pre-ordering my copy today and asked the girl working how many she had.  She said they already had a huge amount of COG tags but the action figures hadn't arrived yet so she wasn't sure.  

I sure hope there will be enough for midnight launchers like myself.
