GTA Gang Enrollment

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 12:45:03 AM EST

OK, I have finished the story missions, and am now playing online alot.
Online for GTA can be frustrating depending on players, but it can be amazing depending on players.

The biggest problem out there in the online modes,
is that many players don't understand that if there is a tight team with strategy, the game comes alive.

I am really keen to get some a cool guys together (some of the greaheads hopefully)
who can actually communicate to take on the masses in Team deathmatch, Cops 'n' Crooks, and of course Team Carjack City.
Also I would like to have a small group to get through the coop missions.

If any of you are interested please let me know.

*helpfull hint for online play.....
After entering aim mode by pressing the left trigger, clicking the right analogue stick zooms in tighter,
and the zoom level ranges depending what weapon you have.
This can give you a more FPS feel, and it helps alot with large street battles.

Xbox Live

Thanks very much to Average, I have had my first month using Xbox live, and I thought I might just share my opinions with you guys.

The good:

  •  Lag seems to be so minimal when compared to the PC.  I would have never imagined to play people in the US on my favorite PC games.  Still, I am yet to host a game, so after I try that my opinion may change.  I have noticed very little lag though - impressive.

  •  The ease of use has to be another strong point.

  •  Being able to seemlessly invite people into games, or join people is very cool.  Reminds me a little bit of steam, but it's far smoother.

The bad:

  •  Too many idiots mouthing off online - this really pisses me off actually.  Sometimes people are so angry instead of just having fun.  How do I control this guys?  I know I can mute individuals, but how do I mute ewveryone except who I want to hear?

  •  Not being able to see where the people are hosting games from kind of sucks.  I know if people have their location in there gamer profiles you can see them, but is there some way to tell other than that?  I wish you could choose games based on ping or location.  I spent around 20 minutes just finding a good smooth game on GTA this morning!

  •  The rating system seems a little odd.  I am not sure why there even is a rating system.  Does having a good rating make any difference in who you are placed in game with, and if yes, how do I get my rating up?

I have to say that the system in general is great, and although there are a few short-falls it workds amazingly well.  Finding good communities is a key for longevity though - thank fuck I was introduced to you guys early in my Xbox live life.

Self Introduction

Hi guys,

I have met/played with a few of you already, thanks to Esuns inviting me into one of your GOW sessions, and Average for giving up a one month gold pass, but I thought I should say hello here over the forum too.

I am new to the online console world, coming from mainly PC FPSs, and I am still coming to grips with using the controller over the mouse and keyboard - getting there though.

I started out playing the games I couldn't get on the PC like Skate, Forza and Fightnight, but then after giving GOW a try I started getting into some other shooters too.  No where near how I play on the PC, but it's really fun and the communities seem much tighter.

I look forward to catching up with, getting shot, and shooting you guys soon.  :)

Steve.
