Let's hear your story.
Sat Jan 03, 2009 at 07:38:45 AM EST
It was late summer of this year. Around August 15 to be exact. I had just had my last day of my 40 hour-a-week job, and was ready to coast for the final two weeks of summer. And that was when it struck.
I'm back! (it's really me!)

So, as many of you have already guessed, it wasn't me spamming gearheads that night. That was my cousin, the pwnda bear, eggo rofls, whatever you know him as.
my opinion. [UPDATED]
Tue Dec 30, 2008 at 04:36:43 PM EST
***** The piece that Crunk wrote was actually his cousin who was recently banned from our site.
His account is being reactivated, and he might post a more in depth explanation. We know he is definitely sorry to those who were offended at all by what was posted.
As most Gearheads could tell, it was a very untypical post for Crunk. Happy New Year 2009! :)
Combustible DLC didn't help Gears 2
Wed Dec 24, 2008 at 07:46:59 PM EST
Even with the release of the new dlc, Gears 2 is still fourth in the charts behind Halo 3, CoD:WaW, and CoD4.
The only thing manlier than Gears of War 2
Thu Nov 06, 2008 at 09:56:49 PM EST
Here's something to keep those of you occupied for a little while, and hopefully make the wait for Gears 2 seem a little shorter. I present to you, the Knight XV. The ultimate gas guzzling, prius squishing, and absurdly expensive way to show the world that you are a F*UCKING MAN.
It has a V10 engine that puts out 400 hp, which is necessary to move this 10,000 lb (that's about 4500 Kg for you canucks) beast. It has 40 inch tires that can drive over more than a few rodents without you feeling the slightest bump. It also has multiple TV's and laptop stations to stay connected.
feeling insecure about your manliness? have $295,000 to blow? This is what you've been waiting for.

Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2?
Tue Oct 28, 2008 at 06:04:54 PM EST
I'm finished with Fable, and I'm really disappointed in the length and depth of the game. I'm going up to gamestop later tonight to trade it in, and I'm either going to pick up Far Cry or Fallout. The problem is that I have absolutely no idea which to choose. Could anyone that's played either of these give me some input here to help me? Right now I'm leaning a little towards Far Cry because I just got done with an RPG, but I'm open to either one. Which one should I buy, Gearheads?
My beta review
Thu Oct 16, 2008 at 12:33:49 PM EST
I've played the CoDWaW beta pretty extensively, so here are my thoughts on the "sequel" To the CoD series. did treyarch manage to bend over CoD and...well...you know, or did they put in a competent effort and actually improve on it's ancestors?

So, I just happened to get an extra beta token for CoD WaW. I figured I'd give it out here, and I think the best way to do it is just by random luck.
So, here's how it works. I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 1000, and whoever guesses closest to it gets the beta code. I'll check up on this at 10:30 cst tonight and I'll send the winner the code.
If you already have a code, or aren't interested in playing the beta, then don't guess, so someone gets it that will actually enjoy it. Post your guesses below, and good luck guys.
If you don't get this one, there's a good chance I'll be getting at least 1 more, and if I do I'll give it out here as well.
Yet another reason to avoid CoDWaW
Tue Sep 16, 2008 at 01:02:15 AM EST

and no, it's not the ridiculously long abbreviation for the game.
When CoD5 launches, there will be two DLC packs. The first isn't described at all, but the second is called "Day 1 Advantage". Basically, they want you to pay extra to get a little (or big?) advantage in the game.
This bullshit has to stop. The content is done prior to the release of the game, yet they're not including it just so they can charge a little more. I for one, will not be purchasing these fragments of games that come out at launch. I wouldn't have nearly as much of an issue with this if this DLC was made after the game had come out, but they're purposely holding back a part of the game just to squeeze out a little more cash.
If this is the future of video gaming, then to hell with it. I'm gonna go plug in my N64 and play some Mario Kart.

Festival of Death - The Tournament
Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 10:32:37 PM EST
Hey, so I was thinking that with this great new gametype we should have a sitewide tournament to determine the master of the shotty-joust.
First of all, we need a time that works for most of us at least. I know Fridays are designated for the FragFests, so I was thinking possibly on Saturday nights, or during the day. Vote in the poll for the time that would work best for you.
If there's enough interest in this, I'll make a bracket. I'm hoping we can get at least 16 participants.
I was even thinking that we could expand this, have teams of two players and have team tournaments also.
To make these jousts more fair, it would be nice if we could get a neutral host to make sure that no one has too big of an advantage.
For scoring of the games, (Assuming it's a 16 player tournament) I was thinking best of nine for the first and second round, then in the semi finals and finals it would go up to best of 13. This can be changed up completely, just my first idea.
So, if you're interested, go ahead and sign up if you have the cajones, and post any ideas for improving this.
Proof that aliens exist!
Thu May 29, 2008 at 09:55:48 PM EST
Cue the X-Files theme song.
According to some guy named Jeff Peckman, he has indisputable video evidence of an alien. He's releasing his vid to the world at a press conference in Denver tomorrow.
From G4's The Feed:
"Jeff Peckman, who is pushing a ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission in Denver to prepare the city for close encounters of the alien kind, said the video is authentic and convinced him that aliens exist. Peckman, 54, said the video was one of the main reasons he was "compelled" to launch the proposed ballot initiative."
Will this be the conclusive evidence that has eluded us for so long? Or will this just be yet another grainy video showing some half assed attempt at being funny?
We'll find out tomorrow sometime.
I know that it's hard to wait that long, so to keep us occupied here's a poll. Do aliens exist?
