cod4 beta 4 everyone who registered

Tue Aug 28, 2007 at 11:21:27 PM EST

yes its true. read. its exciting!
24-Hour Beta Sign-up has officially ended. I've pulled the final list, and the first batch of tokens are going to start sending out immediately.

Before I let you in on the best part, I want to make it clear that tokens are going to be going out in waves, we're probably going to let in a little over 10,000 people a day to slowly ramp up to the full amount. So even if you are selected tonight, you may not get your token just yet. Be patient. Enough of the logistics, now on to the good part.

I told you that we'd take care of the community, and I'm happy to say we were able to live up to that promise. Everyone who signed up for a chance at the beta via the 24-hour Beta Sign-up, WILL be getting a token!

We're going to send out congrats emails to all of you eventually, but keep in mind (again) the tokens themselves will be in waves. So you might get it today, you might get it tomorrow, you might get it later than that. So be patient, I know everyone would love to be in the first wave, but keep in mind this is a beta TEST, and this is one way were testing our servers performance is by ramping up slowly and tracking how it effects the game, playlist downloads, matchmaking, etc. We're hoping to try and get them all out as quickly as possible, but just wanted to give you a heads up if you don't see a token immediately in your inbox.

As I said, everyone who completed the sign-up over the past 24 hour's will be getting a token, if for some reason you missed the 24 hour sign-up keep in mind we're going to have more chances to get tokens in the future (possibly another Charlie.com sign-up) as well as through Gamespot.com, and GameStop, not to mention International users have their very own exclusive tokens / sign-ups coming up.

Thanks again for all the support everyone, once you've all received your token, downloaded the beta, and are online stabbing me in the back on Vacant.... I'm sure it would have all been worth it.

Update: 24 Hour Beta Sign-ups

UPDATE 3:

I wanted to give you guys an update on how the 24 hour sign-ups are going. The 24 hour mark officially ends around 7 pm tonight, so if you haven't signed up yet, do so.

Some of you seemed confused on the "Accept The Agreement" page, you MUST read the agreement (aka scroll down to the bottom of it) before you hit accept. Otherwise it won't take you to the next page. This is a legal requirement, as with most things annoying.

Those of you who keep having the page refreshed on the gamertag / email page, this is because it is case sensitive. So if you have a capitalization in your email, make sure it's in the one you're putting on that page.

I'm going to TRY to get tokens to everyone who signed up within this past 24 hour period, NO PROMISES, as between now and 7pm you never know how many people could sign up, there could be 8 million, 10 thousands, 2, who knows...but we're going to try.

(small edit: Some people we're misreading the "could be" so I made it more clear. sheesh)

Don't worry if you sent double, there's no penalty, we're filtering the lists for duplicates, so if you sent more than one the additionals will just be deleted. Keep the questions coming, and I'll let you know as soon as we send out the first wave of tokens to the winners.

Regardless, before tokens go out, we'll send emails to those who got in BEFORE the token just so you know in advance to be on the look out on your inbox.

I'll keep you guys updated.

Lets get drunk of Caprisun!

hope you all signed up and will be playing soon!

Halo 3 Beta Question

Sat May 12, 2007 at 10:15:08 PM EST

I don't own Crackdown and i wasnt one of the lucky bastards to get invited before they announced you could play the beta through Crackdown. But i went ahead and rented the game from Blockbuster a little while ago, but now i dont know if the copy i rented will work. Does anyone know what to look for? is there an option in the main menu or will it just pop up as downloadable content when the beta is released? If anyone could answer these questions i will be really thankful. Thanks again for your help.

Rooftops question

Fri Mar 02, 2007 at 09:09:43 PM EST

i heard something about the rooftops map. That if you throw a smoke grenade into a specific window or something you see a guy taking a crap. Has anyone heard of this or was the guy bullshitting? And if so do u know how to do it? I bet it would be really funny to see. I tried a bunch of times but never really got it. What about any other funny glitches? Has anyone heard of any little secrets epic never spilled?

gear's difficulty setting

Wed Sep 20, 2006 at 09:59:38 PM EST

I have been thinking alot about gears of war, and i'm sure most of us gearheads have. I keep thinking about the difficulty of the game, i really really hope thats it has many difficulty settings. Like metal gear solid 2 and 3.
Very Easy
Easy
Intermediate
Normal
Hard
Very Hard
Extreme
Something among those measures, i love hard games- i like to have a good hard challenge and i feel that gears of war is being developed so that it can deliver one. I would be very dissapointed if there arent many options for the difficulty level. From a video i watched there were only three settings, easy, medium, and hard. Now if hard- really is hard, i'll be more then pleased. I really hope that they make the game a challenge to us- more skilled gamers. I want it to be so hard that i applaud myself for every kill, every mission passed, every fucking time i chainsaw someone i want to be close to sweating because i was so close to a locust. damn it, it's gonna be a great time i just know it.

Heres a funny thought..

Sun Sep 17, 2006 at 05:15:55 PM EST

Gears of war is coming out on a sunday. A sunday. Thats as though it were to be some holy, amazing day. I find it just haleriouse, but god damn it i certainly feel as though this emergence day will be something we never forget when we think about gaming. I'm very excited because i invision gears becoming a classic. I hope nothing goes wrong, and i doubht it will. So the point is that, it will be a great day- so its more then suitable to take away my time going to chuch. i cant wait to chainsaw.

Why i love gears

Thu Sep 14, 2006 at 10:54:26 PM EST

I'll admit it, once upon a time, long long ago- i wanted a playstation 3. The anticipation was overwhelming and i couldnt help but get my hands on a game like metal gear sold four. I was a true fool- i was more then willing to pay the 699.99 for the better system and had a 6 month plan (or something to that ridiculous sort) that would properly prepare me for the release. But- then something happened. I was online and i beleive it was IGN that i saw an icon for gears of war. I read a little bit, thought it looked cool and continued on with my life. Little did i know that this was the first seed planted in my mind- that would inevitably change me into an xbox 360 owner. Then e3 came along- and i was still exited to hear anything about the playstation 3. Then after a few friends who went had told me- it was a peice of crap- i did some more reasearch and realized two things-
       1) it was a peice of crap
       2) the coolest looking game i had ever      seen was coming exclusivly to the 360.
I read up on the game more and more and before i knew it i had preordered the collectors edition. I love gears because it is really giving me something to be truely excited about. Who knows what other suprises may be unannounced. G Gears of war may be on of the most technically advanced game in graphics, physics, and overall gameplay. The pop and shoot gameplay is absolutely a dream to me- i love the realism of fighting- theres no pussyfooting around the bush with this game- kill or be killed. Chainsaw. Or be chainsawed.
