Website: Masters Few

I'm a software tester by day, and a gamer when I have the time. I've got a website for gamers and the Masters Few Clan at if you want to check it out.

I bid thee farewell...

Fri Sep 26, 2008 at 07:09:58 PM EST

For those of you who enjoy gaming with me and my fellow gamers at The Few, thanks for the good times and I'll see you on Live. Grymm you and your handfull of loud mouthed hoodlums who use brash language and profanity to substitute for originality and mature dialogue, the immaturity that you have displayed throughout these exchanges is really a disgrace to you and the community you claim to represent.  I will leave but it's only because I have legitimately tried to reason with you, and you've displayed to me that you are beyond reason.  I wouldn't want to be a part of a community, even if it's passively, who's site admin's and mod's allow their members to treat others this way.  What's the point of having moderation if folks like this are able to flame and ramble on in what is nothing more than psycho-babble?

Your behaviour, language and tone is disturbing on a few levels.  I know that you will respond to this with some semi-witty, profanity filled retort that you stewed on for a while and I'm alright with that knowing that I was able to let you guys know how simply amazing this is, for all the wrong reasons.  For all of you guys that are legit and mature about forums, dialogue, posting and gaming I can't help but ask why you have been so removed from this, I would've thought that you guys being the upstanding and all around cool guys I've known you to be would've led you to weigh in on some of this stuff with a voice of reason, but instead you've been silent.

I know that some of you have wondered why I continued to try and defend my position and posts, really it's just the principal of the thing.  Even if this is just gaming, and a hobby I can't help but weigh in were I deem appropriate.  Well I've called cheaters-cheaters, haters-haters, lame rules-lame get the point.  I offered an intelligent and well informed opinion and while you guys couldn't actually formulate a legit argument you sure filled in nicely with "asshat" and "f-off" didn't you? ;-)

And so with my last post I will use a quote that may not apply directly but I think you'll get the jist of it.  I'm sure this will be largely ignored and ridiculed, but I'm alright with that, after all this is just gaming:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. "
            -Edmund Burke

Zoso called me a glory monger, Grymm told me to f-off...but at least I'm original...

PS: Site Admin's, if you could please remove my profile, posts and link from your homepage it would be appreciated.  Thank you!

GoW2 Countdown Timer

Thu Sep 25, 2008 at 04:07:39 PM EST

I thought I recalled someone mentioning how they'd like to see a GoW2 countdown timer on your site.  Well the other day I came across just that, so your site admin's can add it to the homepage if they'd like.

Thought I'd share the wealth...

Just wanted to say thanks to the Gearheads!

Mon Jun 18, 2007 at 12:06:36 PM EST

Most of you know who I am.  For those who don't I'm Master Pre and I run another gaming community called Masters Few.  I just got done doing a writeup for my site and since it involved some Gearheads that I gamed with this weekend I figured I'd post it over here.

I will admit I'm a bit biased towards my guys and my fellow Masters, but I have to admit that the likes of the "Doe" twins and Zoso Fan can leave the most well versed GoW players in a crumpled pile on the battle ground.

Anyway, Here's the writeup if you guys are curious at all.

Friday Night Frag Fest: The Good, The Bad, and The Pistol

Sat Feb 24, 2007 at 12:51:05 PM EST

I just wanted to do a rundown on how the Frag Fest went last night for me!

We had quite a few Gearheads coming through: Joeyscorpse, MDK x2002x, Prodigy 839, Neegrat, Apokolypsecow, Dark Karma 76, ESuns, Gears of X, Kenai 91, Kryonn, Macaface, Naveeda, ViolentbyDesign, amongst others (sorry if I missed ya).

Prodigy Reborn was his normal self amassing massive kill counts with relative ease.  Of note was how ESuns and Kenai 91 really stepped their game up, being teams leaders in kills several times!  Great Job guys!

My MVP for the night was Kryonn.  While Prodigy did what he always does, destroys all before him, Kryonn played perfectly last night, his shotgun should be mounted in a museum in NY! hahah

I was also pleased to see us trying out multiple hosts, MDK ran a game that we joined for a while, I hosted and so did Prodigy.  We continued to try different hosts until the lag was at a minimum, finally choosing my connection for the games.

I had a great time guys!  And I love a great challenge, so when Prodigy had his team of all stars destroying myself and my squad, I died with a smile on my face! hahah

Painting my XBox 360

Thu Feb 22, 2007 at 11:00:36 AM EST

I've got a question for you guys.

What if there was a true monopoly?

Wed Feb 14, 2007 at 09:51:15 PM EST

Here is what I contend.  The competition between all the different console makers is constantly pushing them to improve, adapt and evolve.

If one of these companies truly "won" the console war, would consoles and gaming not continue to improve as much as they have over the past decade.

I know this is kind of the "freemarket" argument, but let me here your ideas.

If there was only "One Company Too Rule Them All", would gaming continue to improve or would it stall out due to no competition?

What is your favorite weapon?

Wed Feb 07, 2007 at 02:01:31 PM EST

With Papi Blez's latest post, an interview with his brother has led to some discussion over weapons and their current balancing.

With the grenade issue fixed, I think most agree that the weapons are now well balanced, each with it's advantages and disadvantages.

Now onto the point of this diary post, here is the question(s) I pose:

What is your favorite weapon to use and why?

Is your favorite weapon to use also your most effective?

Papi Blez: I've got a question for you and the other Gearheads

Tue Feb 06, 2007 at 03:19:06 PM EST

In light of the recent talks of changing how we approach the organizing of Friday Night Frag Fest, I would like to ask you some design questions.

  1. What is the practicality of adding another section to the website solely dedicated to the coordination of games?

  2.  If an addition is possible, what kind of mechanics could you add?  (ie.  Random team generator, Captain and Co Captain responsibilities, a ranking system, etc)

  3.  Would a tournament style fragest be possible?  Just to give you an idea, once per month we hold a tourney that would declare a Player/Team "King of the FragFest!".

And now for questions on a different note.

     4.  It would be nice if we could possibly personalize our profiles, ie. the addition of avatars, and a more streamlined messaging system between other users.

This is just my attempt at continuing the discussions, I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel or "dip in on your Kool-Aid".  I like this website and the community aspect of it, and I feel like if improvements are made, it would really help a lot of the players get to know eachother.  There is a large portion of us, myself included that have not played with what I would consider the your crew, but would like to contribute and help the site and the overall cause of having a good time.

FragFest, Friday 02Feb07

Thu Feb 01, 2007 at 05:03:39 PM EST

The best I can tell, there are multiple games being coordinated for Friday nights.  I have been posting these entries every week to look for those who may be interested in trying to get in on a game.

If you want in on a game, send me a friend request, and I'll do my best to either get you in with the game I'm hosting, or get you in contact with one of the other GearHeads to make sure there is enough room for everybody.

My gametag is "Master Pre", and I usually start gaming throughout my Friday evening, depending on what the wife may want to do in the early evening.

Papi Blez, I've been looking forward to the oppurtunity to play you and DamnBoris, so hopefully we can coordinate that tomorrow night.
