I'll be incommunicado for the next few days, but I just wanted to thank you all once again. This is an amazing community, and I consider myself to be lucky to be a part of it. Tyler has done an excellent job of, by and large, attracting a mature set of gamers.

I'm in need of some assistance...again.

I'm interviewing the brother of the big boss of this here site tomorrow, and I'm looking for some interesting questions to ask. While Gears 1 and 2 will certainly come up during the several hours I'll be spending with Epic's wunderkind, the focus of the actual interview is more on Cliff himself. What his tastes are. How he sees the state of the video game industry. Who are some people that he'd love to work with. So if you have anything AT ALL that you'd like me to ask, post them in the comments.

It's with great sadness but also much joy that we can announce that our very own Jeff Green is making the move to game development. After 17 (!) years with Ziff Davis Media, Jeff is finally jumping to the dark side to work on The Sims brand at EA. It's never fun to announce these sorts of things, but we're thrilled that one of ours has such an incredible opportunity to work on such an amazing brand (The Sims makes up more than half of EA's revenues -- what the hell are they thinking hiring Jeff?!).

Seriously, this sucks more than you can possibly imagine.

As you know, a couple of our guys were down in San Diego for Comic-Con recently, and Jason decided to put together some Gears Toy porn for people to check out.

I posted this in the podcast thread, but I wanted to post it again to make sure people saw it.  Some of the things I talked in the podcast (Boomshot changes, Subway map, Shield decapitation) were in the context of rumors.  I guess through the course of editing two different podcasts together this part of the conversation got lost.  So, just for the record, the boomshot was normal except it now has four shots, and although though I've heard rumblings about a Subway remake and the Shield decapitation, I haven't actually seen them to confirm anything.  Sorry for any confusion.
