A Special Thanks
Thu Nov 06, 2008 at 03:26:18 PM EDT
On the eve of the release of Gears of War 2, I wanted to take the time to thank the administrators (Zoso, Blank, Papi, SweetTea, etc) and the dedicated members (Robbins and nameless others) for their diligent work in keeping us informed and, most importantly, spoiler free. I was very happy that these members risked the chance of having the game spoiled by checking out the videos and texts that they posted for spoilers. I never once logged into this site or clicked a link with the fear of having the experience of Gears of War 2 spoiled. Also, a thanks to those for providing "spoiling" material and clearly marking it, for those who did not care or were interested. Overall, I am just very impressed with the determination of the community to make Gears of War 2 the best possible experience.
To those about to frag, Good luck!
Computer Monitor
Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 12:03:36 AM EDT
I just bought a Westinghouse 24" multifunction monitor and it looks stunning. I got it at a great price and I am very pleased that there are no dead pixels .
However, The only problem I am having is that at the suggested resolution (1920X1200) I tried adjusting the resolution but it did not look too great and I tried unlocking my taskbar but that looks ridiculous. Any helpful suggestions? Thanks in advance...
HDTV/Computer Monitor

I believe that around Christmas time I saw Zoso post a newegg link of a computer monitor that is also an hdtv? If anyone wants to recommend brands or links that would be great. Or are the monitors just hdtv's with vga outputs that you can hook your computer up to? I am definitely looking 19-21 inch hdtv/monitor, so if I am completely wrong in my assumption that they exist, please let me know
COD4 Breakdown?
Fri Dec 28, 2007 at 08:11:42 PM EDT
I got Cod4 for Christmas because my wallet was hurting a little bit from all the other purchases I have been making lately. So when I pop in the disk to play I go straight for multiplayer. There is no rank by my name and the searching text at the top right of the screen says "searching for games" or "checking quality". Eventually it will say no games can be found. I doubt that out of 300,000+ gamers online no games can be found. I could also not join any of my friends' games. After turning off my xbox and giving it a rest, it froze when I tried searching for a game, and I talked to my friend and he said the same thing happened to him. Has anyone else encountered this problem today? If anyone has had this happen to them and knows a way to fix it that would be great. I would hate to have to miss out on FFF because of possible router settings or something.
Thanks, Noobpancake
Just when you thought things couldn't get worse

This is a clip a buddy of mine showed me. It truly redefines the meaning of Gangster, stocking cap and all. Why the cop didn't do much else besides basically congratulate the guy I don't know.

That is definitely the best way to get business done. Enjoy

Boo modern warfare! Hooray Gears!!! (From a red beer commercial if anyone has seen it). For those of us who have tight wallets because of Christmas presents and have to wait for Modern Warfare for Christmas I say we play Gears this Friday? Anyone, anyone? Or am I the only Thoreau on this site who hasn't conformed?
Zune worth it?
Sun Nov 11, 2007 at 09:19:25 PM EDT
I have only just started researching the Zune player and would like to know if any of you have it? I would like to know if it is worth it to actually buy that or just replace the ipod that was stolen from me when someone broke into my car. I remember reading somewhere that Sweettea was planning a college persuasive essay on this? Comments?
Pumpkin Carving
Fri Nov 02, 2007 at 06:06:18 PM EDT
I seem to have missed papi's post by a few days so I wanted to show everyone the pumpkins that my friend and I carved.
I carved the snake on the left and my friend carved the weird looking batman-cat on the right. I used a tracer for the snake and my friend drew the cat by hand, taking us roughly 2 hours. Comments?

Halo 3 Ending, No spoilers
Sat Oct 13, 2007 at 07:55:03 PM EDT
Can someone explain the legendary halo 3 ending? I beat the game and it made no sense to me. My aim is noobpancake if you want to im me to explain it or discuss it. I have several questions but I do not want to spoil anything just in case someone on this site hasn't beaten the game on legendary yet.
Thanks,
noob.

To all of those who have unfortunately been plagued with the red light special and will not be able to play Halo the instant it comes out...

I'm sure that you will miss out on all the fun times and your life might be ruined.
/wrists. It's a metaphor, but not really.
Just a Little Something
Tue Aug 28, 2007 at 03:05:20 PM EDT
I made in photoshop cs2. I didn't take that much time in making it. I have only experimented with the program. I remember hearing the tagline while playing the gears campaign but I might be wrong.
I think it's funny but who knows? My sense of humor is not always on target with the mainstream. Comments, thoughts, concerns, tips?

What has this world come to

I found this while I was checking out the article about the Gears movie possibly having a director. And personally, I cannot believe this... What's more is that it's a 2 and a half hour movie! Half the kids in the theater will probably leave early because they realize that they could just be playing the damn game.
What has this world come to? I also think the Gears movie is just going to be bad, especially if it has as much a story line as the video game did...Thoughts?
